Place me in the split pick 2 camp.

I do rate C.Duff-Tytler, but still feel that it is better value for the club in its current position, to take two midfielders.


Even if Essendon offer 6 and 9; at least two from D.Sharp, S.Cumming, S.Robey, S.Grlj and J.Farrow will be available at those picks.

Package that with W.Duursma at pick 1, to accompany H.Reid and E.Hewett - and that's a very solid foundation in the middle for this rebuild.


Either way, the first 10 minutes of this draft will be instrumental to the club's outcomes for the next 10 years.

GCS gain 70 points(as it stands). Our 4th pick moves up 6 places to be firmly in NHH/Barker areas, we could be swayed not to bid on Murray and Addinsall too.
Retain 2 late picks to match a late bid on Banfield, assuming Evans goes through to the rookie draft

I watched the wrong one the other year and it was just a panel of people talking about the picks as they came in instead of seeing the actual draft

I did that too and realised half way though.. i remember thinking, this is the worst draft coverage ever

We want the best players possible at the top end, not just someone that fills a need. CDT pushes someone out of our side, that we flip for a trade or upgrade etc.

I doubt it is a bid out of spite. Given that we are a very big chance to let him go at that pick, they must rate and want him there. Would be a very silly move to just bid to get us to match if there is someone at that pick they would prefer.
