I know about the 2 years @1.4M and its true, but can't confirm if the payment across the deal is the same but I think it would be because usually these kind of deals only change in terms of structure rather than total salary. Its a dangerous play but one I'd take if I were Crows. Not one I'd take as Port.

I wouldn't be surprised if he fell off a cliff after the first 2 years where he nets 1.4M. Maybe its just my view, but I've said from the start that Cal Ah Chee to me doesn't seem like someone that'll play at a high standard for another 5 years
I asked, but Crows supporters are celebrating Ah Chee like the best thing since sliced bread.

They're also saying they are getting both NWM and Bailey, lol, such is their delusion because the salary cap apparently doesn't exist for them 😂

Remember the name Sam Grlj, he's my Murphy Reid of 2025. Hopefully he turns out to be the hit that Murphy has become.

If we had a first rounder, he'd have been my no.1 choice. Would be a steal if he slid past 10.

As a Port fan, this draft won't be exciting. But I am also not upset that we are out of it.

As a general draft fan, my god the 2 draft nights are going to be fun to watch in terms of pick trades and what all the clubs do and where the bids come in. Expect a couple of prospects not to go to clubs they are tied to.

The only intrigue from Port's side I have is:

1. What trades can we get involved in to strengthen next year's hand
2. Other clubs seem to have come to a consensus that this draft in terms of depth is actually good. So will we follow?
3. Phillipou is slipping down the boards for reasons I can't understand. If he gets past 30, I'd throw up a future 2nd from 2027 and see if any club wants to shift out. He's worth the risk in my eyes. I know we won't do it, but I absolutely think we should if he gets past 30.

I think you need to accept we aren't playing in this draft. Unless someone we rate massively falls to last pick in the draft.

We're all in on the next few years, we wont trade back in.

The AFL only inviting 14 players to be in attendance at the draft is just embarrassing. Wasn’t the whole point of splitting the draft over 2 nights to make a spectacle of the first round and the new players? Instead it’s just a half empty room.

Another AFL failure, shocked to be sitting here.

Wonder if the guernsey will get off the hanger? :tearsofjoy:

Several clubs do not have a first-round pick so are unlikely to feature at Marvel Stadium, but AFL.com.au's Cal Twomey is reporting Paul Licuria (Collingwood), Josh Carr (Port Adelaide) and Ross Lyon (St Kilda) will be present and do the honours if a shock pick swap is orchestrated to bring those clubs into the first round of the draft.

The fact McRae isnt even showing up says it all lol
