Heard on the grapevine - high profile opposition players are trying to head to the Bergs but they are having to turn them away.

It's getting ridiculous when one club can turn stars away because they are that spoiled for choice.
Parade and Ivanhoe turning them away too - crazy to have the 3 premiers locked in so early!

Why would they turn them away? They have ample points.
They are already the best team by 20 goals, probably just upsets the apple cart if you bring in opposition players to take current players spots.

A nice luxury to have but a bit sad when opposition players have given up trying to beat them so are trying to join them.

I mean some guy posted this on bigfooty, I wouldn’t take it as gospel

Is it that hard? Like honestly. Are clubs not paying for a full time social media manager? Surely as transfers come in they can be added to a google sheets doc?

Is the social media manager full time?
The league media manager won't be appointed until the CEO is. Email was sent out to candidates pointing it out

Parade can’t fit close to their best side in on points. They won’t win it.
Just off the top of my head, these are all 2024 Premiership players and 1 pointers:

Kerr, Nicolo, O’Sullivan, Whittle, Boundy, Cafari, Jones, Desmond, King, Nolan and Cooper. Might not be household names to most of the comp, but to suggest they're not close to being in our best side is a bit OTT. We'll be up there most weeks with points, but what's the use if having them if you don't fill them up i say

I never said they weren’t in your best side, but you’ve picked up 8-9 blokes on big points so you’ll be plenty of 1 pointers!

A Heidelberg stalwart has told me the same thing about turning away players there, said Vin wants to bring through their 19s as a priority

There are worse problems to have than not been able to fit all your jets in one team.

Sounds like a bit of a shift in approach, last season they probably recruited better than anyone else off the back of the 3rd flag.

Seems like a few fringe players have sought opportunities elsewhere, so maybe a good move.

Sooner or later they’ll lose one. Just need to be there to grab the chance.

You would think this has been the plan for years.

Build strength with outsiders at the same time they have been building their homegrown talent as well and now they can sit back and use that work with only a few outsiders.

Banyule are lucky to have their new coach and the leadership players he has brought in.

That's according to him.

“It’s awesome for a club like this, which has the foundations of a great family club, to get great leaders,” Welsh said.

“It’s one of the things they probably lacked over the last couple of years, not saying the guys here like Yodg (Yodgee) are bad leaders, but they need guys to learn off that have been at that upper echelon.

Was it a long term plan or is it a reaction to losing 10+ guys in 1 off season?
