As a historic basketcase we'll attempt to rebuild against a top eight team "topping up" with a better draft hand than we've had in our entire history.

Future picks for (realistically) marginal present gains seems like, and has often been shown to be, folly. Didn't think it was in our ethos tbh, but hey gotta back our evaluation I suppose.

Phew, glad they took Lindsay with that pick. Was worried, we'd take a random after that trade.

Lindsay at one stage was the only player I wanted, he looked so composed and didn't take safe kicks, really bit off kicks that open up the game. Beautiful user.

I remember arguments on here earlier in the year about us taking him at pick 2. Obviously overs at that pick, but glad he's with us.

That's not necessarily an issue when you have weapons like his. You don't want him inside the contest. He just needs to go when it is his turn.

We now have pick 29 and 34, and pushed Freo's pick out to 25 currently. So matching Williams is now much easier.

29 either needs to come up or go down. It's currently in no man's land with a potential bid for Williams looming. 34 is too high as well FWIW based on playing around with some draft sims.

yeah i think hawks played this one well, forced our hand. suspect addinsall / Lindsay were the two we really wanted at the pick and likely would have missed out.

high price to pay, but ahwell. if lindsay hits its all good.

Also pick 22 (or 23)? Did we not use one of these to upgrade from 16 to 13? The 33 in return will possibly be eaten in a bid on Williams
