Ahh so if nobody bids on Ison then we pick a player and use remaining draft pick points on Ison? Is that enough points?

Worst case scenario,

North and Dogs don't bid on anyone else and take their two live picks.

We take a player with #28.

Eagles bid on Ison with pick #29 = 479pts.

479 - 84(flat discount) = 395pts required.

pick 38 + 44 = 277 + 167 = 444pts.

444 - 395 = 49pts

So, not only do we have enough, we get pick 52 back as well.

I’m in the camp of trade out pick 28 into next year, take the deficit into next year. Only take 2 leave the list spot or upgrade a rookie. Having extra picks next year may end up being advantageous where we can sure up Cody walker and still make other moves. Especially with the value of the 2026 draft picks we could trade are going to have a much lower value than standard due to how compromised it is with Tassie picks. We can also use a late pick to upgrade a rookie, if we prefer the empty list spot on the rookie list

So, if North bid on Ison tmrw, we get pick 53 back iinm... not that it really matters.

I think Dogs are a very strong chance to take Thredgold if North don't take him.

With King and Williams still to be bid on, there's still names like NHH, Phillipou, Ludowyke, Emmett, Greeves available if Ison isn't bid on...

Reckon there's little chance that North bid - hopefully there's a fair bit of goodwill afte the earlier trade that netted them Dovaston - and Thredgold was linked to them leading into the draft.

Although I'm kind of hoping they may take someone else so the Dogs jump at it.

Me too. Purely from a list point of view. We would have gotten a KPD, a KPF and big bodied mid with our three picks.

Emmett is more ruck than the other two. Hard to say, both have barely played this year due to injury.

I think Heatherton because he’s an athletic freak… would like any of them though.

From my limited viewing Emmett reminds me of Kreuzer with his marking and follow up ruck work when the ball hits the deck after a stoppage.

Pure key forward, probably Archie. Louis is more a ruck/forward. Both were rated about the same heading into the draft, in that 15-30 range... Archie might have been slightly ahead.
