Or Bailey Fritsch, Cam Zurhaar, Jack Darling, Mitch Georgiades...none of these are over 192cm

Seriously people are getting too obsessed by a single aspect of a player's ability
Kyle Langford goes alright too.

Charlie Curnow measured in at 191cm in his draft year 2015. Now 194 cm so maybe Mitch has growth potential.

Probably worst case scenario for Tyler Welsh. Have a feeling Bisons work rate and play style will make Tyler look very pedestrian.

Hope hes working VERY hard this offseason for his sake
If they both reached their absolute best, then they could play in the same side as they are very different types of players.

BUT, this pick does absolutely put a lot of pressure on both Welsh and Cook.

Tex should be assigned Marsh next year. teach him as much as possible
I think Tex should be working more with Welsh - whose only role is going to be as a forward.

Marsh should probably work with guys like ANB, Keays and hopefully Dawson.

Not a fan of Logan Morris and Darcy Fogarty in the modern game?

The issue I have with these kind of Forwards is that they can be one dimensional. Lead out chest mark kick a goal. Need to do more now.

Works well in a great team. Logan Morris now. Fritsch when Melbourne were good. Not so much now.

Morris gets subbed a bit too.

Even look at Georgiades. Yes he had a great season purely kicking goals. But overall Port were poor in the forward line. Part of that is how one dimensional he is.

They are player types who are effective for team success with strong support around them.

Looking at this guy, he has some traits where he may not play this role and have more of a secondary role.

Like Fog is capable of doing, and has done.

It is a good pick-up IMO

I don’t even mind if he doesn’t grow and keeps that level of mobility he currently has, we could do with a quicker mid-sized player that’s still very good overhead

He looks like a good get, Tyler Welsh won't amount to anything IMO so Marsh is the type of player we need.

I hate the comparisons of players "he plays like Jeremy Cameron, he plays like Andrew McLeod" nobody every compares a draftee to an bog average plodder "he plays like Ben Holland" "he plays like Steven Salopek"

Agree. One genuinely big fwd (TT) and two medium talls (Fog and Marsh) and three smalls, plus a chop out from eg Curtin/Dawson/ruck is fine.
