Well I take back some of my earlier posts that we will get a couple of midfielders in Banfield and Evans.

So we desperately needed mids. Club said it was a focus and we only got Duursma and perhaps this Allen as a winger with no midfield potential by the sounds of it.

These guys we are getting as rookies (Dev, Macrae and Shoenburg) now are going to have to be our saviors.

Wow. This club's list management is so hard to justify in the here and now. Not sure who is in charge of what but two/three years of what appears to be bungled decisions in a crucial period of a list rebuild suggests that a restructuring is in order.

Off the top of my head we have potentially:
Over traded for Brockman
Over traded for Hall's pick (loosing Boxhsall)
Getting decent but not full return on a contracted player in Barrass
The hawks/carlton picks call
Over promising to Baker
Getting sub value for Liam Ryan

Can't even be bothered to announce re-signing Cripps (who probably should have been rookied)
Thinking ahead of this draft that if we are likely taking CDT that having 4 players already on the list in Billiams, A.Reid, Jilliams, and Barnett who all play the same one position may be a bit redundant. Trade out one or re-rookie one.
To not bid on f------ Patterson??
Bungle trading up one spot this year with the hawks
Don't match on Evans or FS Banefield, but instead match Tylah Williams (could be a good player) but we currently have Long, Cripps, Owies, Brockman, Dewar, Baker, Newton, Hutchinson, Champion, Gross and Harley/Hewett who will spend time in the fwd half this year. Not a major list if you take into account McGlade next year.
In the 2025 draft you don't address the ONE glaring need (that the club itself identified as a key area) in our list for a highly talented inside midfielder.

Its not the one decision today alone that I am so flat about. It is the aggregation of them all that causes me to lose the faith.

EDIT: Duursma, CDT, Lindsay, Allen, Williams is a good draft and our rookie players should add stability to the squad. I just think it could have been a very special draft from the team.

Meanwhile our recruiters completely botch a bid and in doing so hand over a F2, and then can't even arrange list spots for our own aligned players during the one year we have a good crop.

The old players should have been left for the rookie list. And the f/s and academy picks on the list. These guys are so shite at their job

It both is and isn’t.

To not be able to find one or two more is poor management, but when so much of the list is on their rookie or first default extension, and we’ve culled so many in the last two to three years, there’s only so many guys.

move Cripps to rookie list t$3 way Sydney moved older players to rookie , delist and pay Barnett, delist and re rookie Matt Owies.

There were options. We chose not to use them.
