And a song to sing as we watch,

Hey Matty Clarke by Kevin (Random260) Wilson :

Hey Matty Clarke you campaigner, where the **** is Sharp
I’ve looked at all these other spuds and there’s no one that I like
I wrote you a ****ing letter and posted about it twice
You dopey ****ing Richmond fart, you forgot my ****ing Sharp

If I wanted a stupid ruckman type, I would’ve bloody asked
And this half back flank and temu mid, you can shove right up your arse
You’ve stuffed the bloody order up, it’s enough to make you spew
But it’s not just me who’s snakey, SGIO is dirty too

Next time I come to see ya, I’m going to punch you in the guts
And I’ll sack the other recruiting knobs and kick Toddy in the nuts
You just wait 'til next year when you go back to the draft
And me and me little GIO come stomping through the door
And we'll say, yeah, you wait for it

Hey Pyke and Woosh you smell his breath
And check his bloodshot eyes
And don't listen to him eagles fans 'cause he tells ****ing lies
He's just a ****ing useless campaigner and he's not even very bright
'Cause the stupid ****in' w***er, forgot me ****in' Sharp

Hey Matty Clarke you campaigner, where the **** is Sharp
I’ve looked at all these other spuds and there’s no one that I like
I wrote you a ****ing letter and posted about it twice
You dopey ****ing Richmond fart, you forgot my ****ing Sharp
A Quick Ai rendition: https://suno.com/s/blQP3cSnulhqYb5g
It's funny how it interrupted the lyrics XD

No, we should’ve been smarter with list management and been more aggressive generally with trades, we bend over every year when we’re linked to an average player and always pay overs but accept under for our players.

That’s not even taking into consideration yesterdays stupidity of not bidding on Patterson- giving up a second rounder to move up a single spot without getting the target due to incompetence.

Are we supposed to walk into other club rooms with a loaded gun and force them to trade then?

what happened that needs an investigation? we picked players we rated with those picks. you mean they need an investigation into why obese keyboard warriors are not listened to and consulted first.

I like it. recruiters went with who they felt was best. thats it.
They didn’t leave themselves with an option to go with who they thought was best after the Williams pick, that is the issue

How can you not see that another year for Cripps is insanity compared with taking a punt on someone new. F me, I can guarantee you Cripps will contribute absolutely f all this year

Koby Evans wont be playing seniors for Brissy in 2026 , going to be tough breaking into the Brisbane side anytime soon .
Not ideal .
Same with Cody Curtin .
Gotta be reasonable to offer their draftees best opportunity to play AFL , ...
Reckon they went for Evans as an Ah Chee replacement.

They also don't know what Bailey's doing yet.

We can also ask the basic Whose more likely to play in the next flag for us.

Jamie Cripps or Charlie Banfield?

Seriously how you can let the BOG player in the WAFL Colts grand final and a club legend father son walk to another club due to having no list spot for him is beyond me....

Crikey, I really hope Drew and his family is ropeable and rips the club for this. Good for Banna's, gets away from this club which clearly hasn't learned from past list management mistakes.

This is utterly irrational. People melting over late draft picks just because they are tied to our club. Don't see people doing this over mediocre prospects any other year. Pool

It's not about the picks being late vs early. It's about maximising potential and whilst no strategy is ever perfect, it's like we didn't even aim for it.

If we'd identified CDT early like it feels like we did, have AReid, JWilliams in the logjam and Bailey/Flynn still on the list, then what is the point of having Barnett on the list.

If we knew (like we should have) that there'd be interest in our NGAs, then why not free up a list spot through Cripps like so many other clubs have done this year.

If we're keen on bolstering our midfield, am fine with adding some DFAs but 100% would have rathered whoever we rated higher out of Evans or Banfield (Banfield for me) over whoever we rated lowest out of Robertson, Macrae and Schoenberg (Schoenberg for me) on our list. Likely still able to contribute in the WAFL but a higher chance of actually being a threatening player at AFL level.

If we're legitimately holding onto a rookie spot for the best player who's missed out on the draft, again why not just move a current player to the rookie list and take that player now - I'd be shocked if one of Evans or Banfield was lower on our board than all the players between now and the end of the draft.

If we're keen on players being committed to our NGA academies and nominating us as father sons, do we want managers knowing we've done below the bare minimum to make it work (not saying we should ever prioritise this but making hopeless mistakes means as a player manger I'd be cautioning junior players against us).

To be a good side again we need to be maximising what we have, list spots, draft strategy and late picks, no matter how unlikely it is a late pick will be a champion player. We're too shit to be this limp and meek at the draft table. Each blunder is mild but clubs like Geelong function in part from running a tight enough ship to just not make those blunders - I feel like the melts are less over any one player or pick and more just our meek, amateur approach to this all.
