Assume we take Chamberlain, is it confirmed anywhere we take McNamara? Do we only have room for Cat B?
Yes, only Cat B. It's not confirmed we take either of them.Assume we take Chamberlain, is it confirmed anywhere we take McNamara? Do we only have room for Cat B?
Perfect draft though isn't it?

Sounding more and more like he'll end up a flop at this stage
Did we get anyone who has the potential to be a BIG UNIT?
I think our team needs BIG UNITS.
Ta.
From memory, I think many here were saying similar things last year when we selected Bice. He's turned out ok so far.I wish him nothing but the best.
But at 22 years old, others, including us, have had plenty of time to show interest
Anyway he is a Swan and I hope he rips it up.
Aren't you against taking guys without a clear position high in the draft? At least that's been something you've said repeatedly over years.Phillipou could perfect midfielder size. Kyle you never know. King is a big bodied lad albeit I have my queries positionally. We took a range of players and no flankers that helps
The worst thing anyone can do is make a Josh Kennedy body type comparison as he was truly a freak of nature. Still cannot believe he was banned from using weights his entire career.I’d consider Kyle a big unit
He has the size already to develop into a Josh Kennedy body type
His dad looks a like a whippet tho !!I’d consider Kyle a big unit

Kyle is currently either a flanker or mid, Keane said about Cootee that we think he'll play half forward, wing or pinch hit midfield, so could primarily see him as a flanker.
It's only weird because no-one saw it coming. When you look at his resume it makes perfect sense in this draft at that pick. At worst he'll be good depth.Kyle I see primarily as a midfielder so no issues there. Cootee the one weird pick but out of 4 I’ll take it
Let's say Curnow replaces Buller in terms of numbers.I get the key forward concerns but really how many can we afford to have on the list? Curnow, Amartey, McDonald and McLean on the main list of 36. If 2 sre unavailable, Ladhams can play as a 3rd key forward. None of them approaching retirement in the immediate future. Potentially King to add to that. Feel like adding another to the list could have been overkill and left us short on depth elsewhere.

I looked at him and Angry side by side because I thought, well he was a former Academy boy, had a good season in the same league as Cootee and is a 190cm dude on top of it.It's only weird because no-one saw it coming. As you would expectI looked at him and Angry side by side because I thought, well he was a former Academy boy, had a good season in the same league as Cootee and is a 190cm dude on top of it.
Cootee is marginally ahead in stats, but where he smashes him in is clearances. Cootee had double digit clearances I think once or twice and had 9 in 3 other games.
Edit: That's not to say one or the other will work out, but it might just give an insight into what the Swans were looking for as no doubt they have a plethora of players they're keeping an eye on.
The rookie draft is this afternoon right? Anyone know what time the picks start? I can't seem to find the exact time anywhere.
Could add Hamling to the stocks of KPF's list too based on where he has played a lot the last two seasons. At VFL level at least.Let's say Curnow replaces Buller in terms of numbers.
So same numbers as this year, how did we go for key forward stocks?
I think ideally you'd want at least 5 usually fit KPFs plus maybe a ruck who can pinch hit (like Ladhams). 2-3 in each of senior and VFL sides.
It's an if as to whether King is a legitimate KPF, but another assumption let's say he is. We then have the 5+1.
One of which is unreliable in terms of fitness, another just missed the entire senior season, another was in fairly poor form when they had to lead the line.
Don't think it's overkill to go to 6+1 when in all likelihood there'll be 1 missing a lot of the time and McLean might not bounce back to his past best as serviceable KPF/2nd ruck. They take years to develop and we may not just be able to trade for one in a couple of years when needed.
