Jagga still has a couple more years of filling out to do. He'll be a unit once his finished growing. Hopefully HOF is going to spend the next 12 months doing some serious upper body work.
HOF looks like he could have one of those frames, that might take a little extra time to fill out, strength and power just as important…
Jagga i agree, will take a few more seasons to get to the required levels of size strength and power…

One thing I like about Jagga with our new forward set up is that he will always look for the best option and not simply default to bombing it down the line.

I hope we can get the ball in his hands in that 55-75m out zone 10-15 times per game.

Spot on
Voss gets a decent forward group...now
Moir and Motlop need to go next level in 2026...
Voss has 3 months to make it all come together.....and sustain that thru 2026
He is going to earn his money !
Need Dean straight in and contributing to maintain defense with Newman back
Need Jagga into midfield all season contributing
Need forward system ovehaul working in sustained way, even with genuine talent won't be easy to actually do I suspect...

I suspect this new group including Dean might be slightly stronger than this years

If Voss can figure something out he will survive
Would have been great if we’d picked up Adrian Hickmott from the hawks. Our forward line would grow exponentially. His interview on dyl and friends is amazing.

Spot on, if you go by the way he played through his junior years he does exactly what you’ve described, he’ll create opportunities through multiple channels within his game style…
Teammates and fowards are going to love his class & IQ, along with all of us fans, can’t wait to see him in action…

Totally agree there. Keep him on the outside running forward and our entries into the forward 50 are going to be great.

Attended training again this morning, quite a nice day. As others have said both Harry Dean and Jack Ison ran out with the team and did the warm up and Dean in particular did quite a few drills. Cody Walker was also did some of the early drills, wearing his fathers old number and a hat, saw Andrew (also wearing a hat) and Arli down on the fence talking to Davies and one of the recruitment guys.

The bulk of the trainers were the first to fourth year players, can't recall seeing Cowen, the new recruits: Chesser, Florent, Hayward and Reidy. Plus Walshy, Pitonett, Hewett and Acres, and the same three from the VFL - Ethan Phillips, Flynn Riley, Sam Paea and Taj Logan. At different times noticed Cortrell walking and bouncing a ball near the goals, Kemp running laps and Weitering was out with a trainer doing his own thing again like last week.

Training was a lot like last week, warm up with running in a straight line, some agility stuff running to different coloured cones and kicking with a partner. They completed a number of different drills, usually with some playing defender in a coloured bib, to work the ball past the defence. Some of the drills were in tighter space with more defenders, while others had the defenders out numbered and covered half the ground. Right in the middle of everything they did some multilpe timed running drills around the boundary, with one group doing a shuttle run.

Then they completed a drill in pairs with one standing the mark, moving the ball backward and forwards the length of one side of the ground. Finally then played some match sim across the whole ground blue against orange (training tops turned inside out). The ball is usually rolled or given to a defender at one end and they attempt to move the ball the length of the field, Hollands and Jagga were wearing yellow don't tackle me hats, which didn't stop someone from tackling Oli at one stage.

I know some people are interested in who is "training the house down". Not sure I feel qualified to make those judgements. I will say I liked a few times Chesser got going, he moves very well. I also like a few things I've seen from Reidy and Flynn Riley who both are more agile than you'd expect. Jagga Smith is eye catching when he's got the ball and as usual the likes of Walshy and Hollands run hard at training like they do in games.

There's a whole Herald Sun article about it too!

"Almost 14 years after his dad went viral for wearing a hat at a pre-season training session, Cody has been spotted following in his footsteps."

The things that make news these days... 🤦‍♂️
It only went viral because people couldn't believe the inanity of the Herald-Sun reporting on the headwear of a player with no other information!

Cody Walker at the club today also - training with the seniors. Andrew and Arli in attendance.

According to Andrew, Cody 100% will be at Carlton next year.

Does he have inside word re the rule changes for next year?

Not asking what they are specifically, just want to know if he's making that remark knowing what the AFL are planning to do...

That’s why I want him forward flank then stints midfield.
We need to be creative going forward Hes going to run it in handballing or work with Hayward Moir kemp drawing them into space.
Once that’s been established Harry will get some one on ones.
Plus his reflexes reaction times and one touch play will provide him with plenty of scoring opportunities.
