And a song to sing as we watch,

Hey Matty Clarke by Kevin (Random260) Wilson :

Hey Matty Clarke you campaigner, where the **** is Sharp
I’ve looked at all these other spuds and there’s no one that I like
I wrote you a ****ing letter and posted about it twice
You dopey ****ing Richmond fart, you forgot my ****ing Sharp

If I wanted a stupid ruckman type, I would’ve bloody asked
And this half back flank and temu mid, you can shove right up your arse
You’ve stuffed the bloody order up, it’s enough to make you spew
But it’s not just me who’s snakey, SGIO is dirty too

Next time I come to see ya, I’m going to punch you in the guts
And I’ll sack the other recruiting knobs and kick Toddy in the nuts
You just wait 'til next year when you go back to the draft
And me and me little GIO come stomping through the door
And we'll say, yeah, you wait for it

Hey Pyke and Woosh you smell his breath
And check his bloodshot eyes
And don't listen to him eagles fans 'cause he tells ****ing lies
He's just a ****ing useless campaigner and he's not even very bright
'Cause the stupid ****in' w***er, forgot me ****in' Sharp

Hey Matty Clarke you campaigner, where the **** is Sharp
I’ve looked at all these other spuds and there’s no one that I like
I wrote you a ****ing letter and posted about it twice
You dopey ****ing Richmond fart, you forgot my ****ing Sharp
A Quick Ai rendition: https://suno.com/s/blQP3cSnulhqYb5g
It's funny how it interrupted the lyrics XD

Unfortunately, too many times officials had to ask 'Where's Walley?'
Having the benefit of NGA tied for three years gives flexibility now i suppose with Lawson Humphry saying he was not ready at 18. I feel if the Wafl eagles get more competitive which they should this year than it might be appealing to a future NGA to develop through that program.

AFL academy number... Under 18 AA... WA MVP... Finds plenty of the ball.

Fits a position of need... Id say that's highly rated... Instead of our club's general draft/recruitment... Which you seem to always rate highly
No other club took a punt on him in the ND. What does it say about them?

Like I said, I hope he proves everyone wrong and kills it. Was a favourite of mine at the start of the year but just seemed to stagnate as the season went on.

Looks like one list spot for SSP train on's. I am curious how they spotted Dev, Mcrae and Schoenberg from the other delisted and 2nd tier league players as sign on without trial. No criticism simply interested in what they see and roles. Any word on who has been invited as a train on potential yet? I wonder if Blamires or Murdock get a run or they look at a ruck.

Think we're done now. Once Monday opens and we sign Dev, Macrea and Schoenburg thats all the list spots

He might now also realise he needs to be an adult if he wants an AFL career.

Not necessarily his fault with the draft age being so young though. It'd be tough as an 18yo to be expected to be highly disciplined in regards to diet and exercise, as well as how you conduct yourself in your private life. Especially when all your mates are just going out and having fun.

Hopefully he realises the opportunity in front of him and pulls his finger out next year.

Just look at Latrelle Pickett, for instance. Missed his draft year, decided he really wanted it and went at pick 12 this draft.

Some kids just need that extra year. Hope Walley's one of those.

SSPs are Cat-A rookies only, and we just filled our last spot. I suspect our Cat-B spot will remain vacant since we declined to take Walley.

If we leave our second cat b rookie spot vacant I will burn the club to the ground.
You fit in well around here then.

It’s all relative. At this point it’s probably just a reaction.
Look, around here if your reaction here isn't basically demanding a global worldwide rampage that will destroy all life on earth, what is your reaction?

No spot for a train on now since we’ve committed to Robertson, Macrae and Schoenberg

Only vacant spot is on the Cat B list which may not be filled- we can sign an Irishman or a basketballer there if we choose but that’s unlikely

I do think we can add Walley at some point over preseason if we want and he addresses whatever issues he has that resulted in the club deciding to not list him literally for free

Yeah, **** off we’re full basically

Just a cat b spot left which has restrictions on eligibility

We are a very very young side compared to the top sides and if Cripps and Cole retire/delisted at the end of 2025 we will be even younger unless we bring in a free agent or suitable trade.
Everybody knows that our age profile is very poor between 23-28.
Apart from talent you need to spread your list and not be too old or too young.
No mate the whole squad would be another year older. We have only introduced 6 - 18 yr old players to our list this year. Stop exaggerating the youth angle. The other 5 players we’ve brought on board are all older and experienced.
Banfield should be on our list right now bar obvious poor list management choices.

I imagine if you wound the clock back 12 months and said we’d have duursma, CDT, Lindsay and Fred on our list in 12 months time you wouldn’t have believed it.
This, so much this. There was probably a time when a suspected open draft top 5 for this year would have been Sharp, Duursma, CDT, Lindsay and Rodriguez. To end up with 4 of them on our list is a great feeling - I reckon we've done bloody well here.

Possibly we had our eye on Kickett for the CATB spot but Fremantle got in first to a Rookie Position. I think we can now decide to add Wes over the coming week if we want to but unsure

Looking at the guys we’ve drafted, we’d be unlikely to draft Harper. The theme I get from our selections is that we only want elite athletes, unless they’re an elite kick (Lindsay) or a re-heated delist (no athleticism required for them).
what sort of player is Harper ?

No Walley is staggering. Why did we nominate if we weren't interested?

Come on. Mate you've been most vocal about the Eagles not being flexible enough with the list spots, surely this is a sign of flexibility.
