We've done Ryan Byrnes to death over the last couple of days...I also feel like he now gets to go play with one of the best players in the competition which absolutely must be a factor.

Good point!Momentum is a bizarre thing. Once you get the rock rolling down hill it becomes a force but stop it and it makes it nearly impossible to shift again. We really feel like we have at least got the thing moving now and there feels like an inevitable pay-off coming.
Like the early years of GT coaching us. We haven't achieved anything but you can almost smell success coming. Brisbane had it too. They were absolutely horrible for ages and then once things started to go right they seemed to not be able to make a bad move.
Voss hands on the loose ball look very good.
No doubt he wanted to go to the Eagles and was likely told he was but they decided against him

No current season stats available
Back to back flags and multiple father sons and academy players tends to buy you a little leeway.Brisbane were absolute flogs with the Ah Chee trade and should've been given a lot more heat for it in the media
So goodGlen Jakovich on Charlie Banfield...

Good point. There’s a tipping point isn’t there. Belief grows, things can start to go right when earlier things just go wrong.Momentum is a bizarre thing. I think Drew has given his son a pretty good perspective of the opportunity he has now and just how difficult even getting drafted is. No doubt he wanted to go to the Eagles and was likely told he was but they decided against him.

Apologies if this is a repost
Any chance that was cough intentional ?I enjoy him saying Fincher was being playing in the wrong position.
Trav can keep him companyThere's some reasonable looking players there but none that scream pick me. NHH looks the most likely, you'd just have to lock him in the gym and come back in 6 months.

Yeah, interesting that they see Fincher as a forward & can see the comparison with Hall. When one listens to Dalrymple you can really understand how they are assembling a list, a team, that will have continuity with every position, and options for those positions. And with players in those positions such as wing there will be different attributes in addition to all having in common running capacity. So we have tall wingers as well as mediums and smalls. Some like Henry have a bit more pace.
So for example Banfield is a Wood clone who is an aerobic beast who can run on the wind up and back all game supporting the forwards and backs as well as wing, and who when forward is marking threats.
Fincher sounds vary much like they plan for him to be a potential Max Hall Mk2.
Running capacity is very important. So it looks like we want to outrun other teams, and part of that will be to also achieve outnumbers at the ball. The latter very important if we believe that some other clubs may have more elite talent in their midfield group than us.
The three Irish lads are all very good runners too. Kobe is also very quick and agile.
Hally is our Zac Baily, Degoey.Yeah, interesting that they see Fincher as a forward & can see the comparison with Hall.
Both have looked very good in the midfield too.
I kinda hope Hall can play mid. more because his kicking is so damaging.
But seems the coaches are going to use both of them only in bursts in the midfield
I reckon Fincher could get quite a few games next year, he seems to be physically ready.
He & Hall could be handy on the HFF's.
Still think Wilson is better on a HFF than wing though.
Maybe we see Ryan more as a midfielder?
Physics type momentum ( the rock rolling ) is totally predictable and sensible.
Its when it happens in ...sport and luck that its bizarre.
Like when one of the teams suddenly pulls off every long shot they try. So they try even freakier stuff, and that works too.
At its purest form , I've played roulette, a few blacks rolled in a row, so i bet on red. 12 blacks later, i was ready to go home, my stash gone.
Agree about Wilson as a HHF. I don't see the urgency pushing him into the midfield when he's currently producing multiple goal and 20+ disposal games in that position. He seems to have a natural instinct as a forward. More so than Owens or Pou, and maybe slightly more than Hall.Yeah, interesting that they see Fincher as a forward & can see the comparison with Hall.

Fincher is an interesting one, we have a lot of small forwards and mids coming through and a lack of quality small backs imo. If they see mid/half forward as his position that's obviously an objective opinion, but he'd be a far greater chance to get a game any time soon as a small defender. When one listens to Dalrymple you can really understand how they are assembling a list, a team, that will have continuity with every position, and options for those positions. Fortunately there's only 2 skinny players on our list now, Travaglia and HastieTrav can keep him company
I believe that is called double dipping in the business...may St. Kilda's rewriting of the playbook continue...turbo charged...boo yeah. And there’s a brother next year who is apparently better …
Hopefully too pissed off with WC to nominate as F/S and prefers playing with his brother.
.

What about that waif, Max King?Fortunately there's only 2 skinny players on our list now, Travaglia and Hastie

I wouldn't call 108kg skinny! What about that waif, Max King?![]()
