I have such a love hate relationship with our media team.

I enjoyed previous year's draft videos where they showed the recruiting team discussing the targets. Of course they've abandoned that

Might be still to come. From memory it was a few days after the draft

In a weak draft, meant to be one of the weakest in years, we've opted for one solid pick and one good/speculative who should take a few years to develop. You've got to take someone. Then Darcy is almost a free hit .

We're building a team with draftees , no moneyball nonsense .

I think that was one of the reasons that held us back. Our recruiting of role players and VFL players were largely misses than hits. Plus our drafting looks more consistent across the rounds in recent times. Am glad we are backing ourselves to develop instead of topping up with stop gaps and other teams fringe players and acting surprised when they don't break the best 22 for us. They were fringe players for a reason.

The cats have a good record with rookie listed players, will be interesting to see how Nick Driscoll goes. I remember Mojorisin said we were interested and I wonder what would be if we had the extra pick. Certainly has the high end speed and endurance combo I feel we missed on this year. The whole speed and endurance combo sounded like a lot of talk, not a heck of a lot of action when looking at the cats picks. They took 3 of them with the high end combo of speed and endurance. Ours aren't bad or anything, just not on the level of the cats picks. Emmett is at least super gifted for endurance.

Yeah I had the same feeling after hearing Regan talk.

I suspect Regan could give an interview just as compelling about a dozen other players who could have conceivably been at that pick.
