I think thats a thing for finals matches unless its been changed.

If the Afl side is playing finals you can play as many as are available as i understand.
Once the Afl side is eliminated from finals it goes back to certain restrictions.
If the Afl side isn't playing finals than certain rules apply
Only a certain amount of players can be picked. must have played at least five games of Wafl that year and a certain amount of games in the last month. In other words borderline players.

To play in the finals i think a player must have played at least 5 games. There is also a limit on the number of players on the main list that can play at any game, I think it's 10. That's why we have a lot of ammos and WAFL players playing for the Beagles. The WAFC don't want us dominating the competition like we did when we were aligned with East Perth.

Young will probably play I think you’re right, that just leaves even fewer spots for Lindsay, can’t see him being a regular until Duggan is phased out.

Hall was quite good the back end of last season.

Notable absentees:

• Cripps - WAFL depth at this stage
• Kelly - see above
• CDT - shouldn't be playing WAFL for too long but should start there
• Maric - unlucky to miss out. I just don't know where his best position is. Best hope might be up forward again. Could easily replace Hutch with him, but I like Hutch's pressure more
• Davis - also unlucky. Probably fighting with Allan for a wing spot. Possibly deserves it more but Bo has more talent
• Hall - think Dev edges him out
• Dewar - see Maric
• BWill - we know what he is by now. Shanahan, A. Reid and CDT should all be given games ahead of him if he's a forward. Bailey can come in when Flynn inevitably gets injured
• JWill - probably fighting with A. Reid for a spot. Could easily be his with a big season Will be tough to get a spot since Mini has a hard on for Archer
• TWill - not quite ready yet but should hopefully get a run at some point
• Long - needs a big pre-season. Forgot how promising he was in his first year. Hasn't seemed the same since his knee injury

He's slow and not very agile but his positioning became a lot better to be able to intercept. Andrews and Gov aren't particularly quick or nimble but they both dominate through reading the play.
