Fixing endurance if a 17 year old has the work ethic is literally the easiest thing you can do.

To suggest its not is just plain silly. Its not like his endurance is poor, its just not a strength, YET!

Try fixing kicking, marking, speed, smarts etc, they are much much harder to improve.

Fixing or improving endurance in a professional environment is literally easy.

It's nonsensical to name Grilj as a forward in the Lambert mold, we agree there. What I can see is NRT doing a similar role to what Lambert did, he has the tank and speed to make it work.

NRT has more inside capability by the looks of it.

NRT has probably more of a contested element whereas Grjl with his run and speed would be more about pressure and link play one would imagine, covering more ground up and back

With Grjl run and speed it is natural he would be more dangerous on the outside/and/or in spread

So with Grjl, flank, NRT, probably not as much

From what I was told in front of Duursma and CDT. So best in open pool.

If I had to guess our open pool rankings were:

Cumming
CDT
Grilj
Duursma

That’s guess work on info coming from other clubs. Grilj was a very secretive ranking but a few clubs thought Richmond weren’t as big on Duursma as other clubs. Some clubs had him outside top 5.

I’m fairly confident we had Dylan Patterson at number one and Dean in top 5 too.

Show me any ranking of note where he was even in the top 40 or 50. I searched the B&f databse for his surname & he was not on any clubs supporters list except for a pick in the late 50s. Even the 2 Adelaide teams were not circling him based on that search.

It was a reach. They happen every draft & when they do, they get rewards/judged very hard. Get it right & your a genius. Get it wrong.....

This draft will either make Hartley a legend or Greg Miller. A guy who peaked, then fell hard


The dishonest revisionist history you lot constantly do is weird. Months & months or projecting your "wants" from this draft. Next to no one had "Cumming, Grlj, Peucker". I watched the BF live feed with Michaels, Grock, EJ & TT. I saw the absolute disappointment in their faces "in the moment". I heard Michaels say "your kidding aren't ya?". I KNOW exactly what the feeling was when it happened.

If you guys want to convince/gaslight yourselves into thinking "this is what you wanted" after watching the Tigs lose 18 games this - then go for it. But constantly shitting on people who have just chosen to hold onto the same opinion they went into the draft with & judge it appropriately is a pisstake.

Grilj was always on the radar. Both with me but also with the club. He deserves to be picked at Pick 8. I said in August that even if we had Pick 3 I would pick him.

Yeah. I was never a fan of the Taylor pick, especially with Gibcus, Brown, Trainor and Trezise on the list. Just felt like a lazy pick given he was a Tigers supporter.

If we talked about 2 of the biggest list needs going into the draft it was a lightning quick, linebreaking rebound defender and a quick, strong, two way runner who can go forward.

Grlj and Cumming fit those criteria to a T.
