England sounds like the logical place if that were to happen I'd assume? Emirates Stadium seem to host a fair few 'neutral fixtures' these days.

The Ukraine games in Poland have had some good attendances but much of it might have been away fans. Only 6,995 vs Azerbaijan. If a Ukraine vs Poland final was held in Poland there would be something like 90% Polish support. Emirates is a great stadium but why not Wembley for the full player and fan experience?

Hypothetical of course. Both teams have to get through.

I cant seem to remember the last time a 'neutral' international fixture was hosted at Wembley outside a major tournament. It is a big game. Do feel though given Ukraine and Poland have co-hosted a major tournament in the past between them, and Ukraine using Poland as a hosting ground for their qualifiers- the countries get along well.

Think there is too much goodwill between the countries for the potential clash between the two sides to be moved elsewhere.

Ok. So Pot 2 looks good on the surface….but.

So much is going to depend on who we draw in Pot 1 now the UEFA play off winners are in Pot 4.

On face value you look at it and think one of Canada or USA would be good, but that rules out Haiti or Curaçao in Pot 4 and greatly increases the chances of another UEFA team (ie Italy)

Think our best chance is drawing one of the UEFA teams in Pot 1 and then hoping for winnable games against the other two.

There's no great outcome with the seeding. Either we're pushed to pot 3 or now risk some great play off nations when you're hopeful for a minnow.

I don't hold out much hope for "easy draws", we'll just make our own luck

Pot 2 confirmed. Fantastic result.

No guarantees but it potentially gives us a shot at 2 weaker opponents.

Of course, we could also be drawn in a group with any non-host nation from pot 1, Haaland Norway and Italy…

Australia can't be drawn against one of the other pot 2 countries, which is good. But they also can't be drawn against other weak AFC countries in groups 3 and 4, such as Saudi, Jordan and Qatar.

Dream draw - Canada, Australia, South Africa, New Zealand.
Nightmare - Argentina, Australia, Norway, Italy.

The seeding they're implementing is ****ed.

Get an early OG from a corner, then Popa goes 11-0-0. Australia's greatest international sporting triumph.
Seeding makes sense, but the later rounds are what gives FIFA's dodginess away.

Nah we will step up.

Imagine a midday kick off vs Poms. Madness.

Football isn't the same as the cricket. The record is 18 England wins, 2 draws, 2 Australia wins. The most famous Socceroos win is 3-1 in 2003. But look at the team compared to the current one.

Obviously I’d want Australia to get out of the group and make a bit of a run but I wouldn’t want the easiest draw either. I think getting the chance to play a glamour team like Brazil or Spain is a lot more exciting than some average team like Canada that we might not beat anyway
