1-0 Win at home to Newcastle Jets over Western Sydney Wanderers. First time in Jets history that they've been undefeated in their first 3 games.

Good signs with striker Melina Ayres getting in a couple of strikes on goal - a long range shot that was tipped into the crossbar and a bicycle kick shot that needed to be saved. Last season they lacked any goal scoring power, now they have Ayres back from a year off and Kelli Brown the NZ international. Lauren Allen scored their goal from a 2nd phase play off an overshot corner, the return ball finding her unmarked in the box and she headed it home in her 100th game. Suspicion of offside.

Canberra already 2-0 up vs Perth Glory with goals in the 4th minute from Michelle Heyman and 8th minute from Emma Robers. Half-time score.

Canberra United added a 3rd through Bethany Gordon in the 2nd half to win 3-0 at home. 3 losses in a row for Perth Glory after winning their opening game of the season.

Wellington Phoenix at home doing well in this game vs Melbourne Victory. By no means dominating the play but they've got closer to scoring when they've had chances and have put 1 away to lead 1-0 at half time.

1-0 at the final whistle. First ever win for Wellington Phoenix against Melbourne Victory.

Melbourne Victory dominating the territory game in the 2nd half vs Wellington Phoenix but the best chance was to the Phoenix in the opening minute of the 2nd half when a cross found Emma Main in the box but she parried it straight to the keeper. Fair bit of off the ball niggle in this game where you could see players pushing each other off play by the camera and the home crowd got into to it nearing the end, cheering for every time Phoenix defended a Victory attack.

Wellington were bottom of the table at the start of the day, Victory in 2nd place - now they're 1 point behind Victory with 2 draws and a win from 3 home games. A good boost for Wellington who lost 2 players from their squad with ACL injuries in last week's match, including perhaps their best player in Alyssa Whinham who will miss the rest of the season (and obviously the international matches vs Matildas next week).

Young Matilda Madeleine Capers putting Sydney FC ahead 1-0 vs Central Coast Mariners in the 76th minute which was the final result. Win puts Sydney FC on Top of the A League Table with 2 wins and 2 draws from their first 4 games. CCM equal bottom - although they have played 4 of the better teams to start the season.

Only the Sunday game. Canberra vs Sydney has been postponed. Maybe something to do with the numbers of players in those squads playing in the international matches (mostly Young Matildas and a few snr NZ players playing in A-League), although Melbourne Victory will have a couple out as well.

Untroubled 3-0 home win to Melbourne Victory over Perth Glory with all goals coming in the 1st half.

Melbourne Victory go to top of the ladder on 9pts but have played 5 games. With the byes and games postponed Perth Glory are the only other team that have played 5 games. Melbourne City for example have only played 2 games going into Rd 6.

Opening goal had the best finish from Kennedy White who leads the A League Women's goalscoring with 5 goals so far this season.

Looking like an upset in the first game of Rd 6.

Melbourne Victory opened the scoring inside 5 minutes but Canberra have 3 now with about 10 minutes to play. Odd game because Victory have looked the team most likely to score with most of the play in their forward half, while Canberra have constructed much fewer forward moves but have got the goals from better build ups - albeit 2 of their 3 goals have been from ricocheted shots.

Melbourne Victory 1- Canberra United 3 the final score.

Melbourne Victory 3W 3L in 6 games. More losses than they had in last season's H&W fixtures.

Sasha Grove with the best goal of the match that put Canberra a 1-2 lead. For the Victory, Kennedy White extended her goal scoring with another making it 6 goals from 6 games.

Edit: Victory's goal was credited as an own goal.

Melbourne City 1 - Wellington 0.

Latish goal from a set piece where the Victory centre backs waxed headers, Taylor Otto across to NZ international Rebekah Stott who was left unmarked beside the goalpost to direct it wide of the Wellington keeper. Very few chances created by Melbourne City but they win again. First loss of the season for Wellington who had more shots at goal and will rue that one lapse in defence.

Western Sydney Wanderers 0 - Sydney FC 0.

4 shots on goal each. Some clear chances not taken and a bunch that narrowly missed or were blocked by defenders but a very entertaining game showcasing a lot of the young talent in Aust women's football. Hana Lowry played her first A League minutes in 13 months for Sydney FC - former Glory player and Junior and Young Matildas starting midfielder who had just been selected in the senior Matildas squad for the first time when she did her ACL.

Adelaide United 1 - Brisbane Roar 3

Brisbane back on the winners list after a shock home defeat to WSW in their last outing. They go to the top of the table. Didn't watch this game but the last two Brisbane goals were scored by former Dutch International Bente Jansen and an opening goal to Young Matilda Grace Kuilamu vs Erin Healey's excellent strike for Adelaide - only a consolation goal that brought the scores back to 1-2. In the golden boot race, Bente Jansen on 5 goals for the season from 4 games, 2nd to Melbourne Victory striker Kennedy White on 6 goals. Other news from this game is that Tameka Yallop left the pitch in the 1st half with a serious leg injury (hamstring?) which may put her selection for the Asian Cup squad in doubt.

Edit: Jansen from Brisbane and White from MVC lead the golden boot with 5 goals each. Victory's goal initially credited to White was a Canberra own goal.
