Saw that, also wouldn't call it walking as it was more of a shuffle but then the on the spot and down it went was "typical Russia".

Robotics is funny like that, I mean the USA & EU tech space is bipedal and quad legged bots with some decent "this can do 1-2 things" in demo. Meanwhile, China Russia and general Asia either have an x-box controller or random joypad and it falls down after 5 steps and faceplants whilst they scream "lookit this wonderful AI!" all around.

We already use robotics in manufacturing things and medicine, so it really shouldn't be that hard to make a robot that walk properly all things considered.

In other news..

4x boxes, 2x bags and I now only have to clear our a cabinet so I can maybe move the freezer to then access the plumbing to then measure for actual laundry which I'll probably have to remove when I re-tile the place. The skips I'm looking at might no longer be suitable given well going to have to utalise hard pick up instances for the mattresses to clean another room out.

Is it wrong to say I am looking forward to sanding and painting instead?

Knowing humans we'll get realistic sex bots before we get a robot capable of doing the housework.

My mate who works for Google has done a few videos of Waymo rides he's taken in LA in heavy traffic. There are a few close calls but mostly cyclists and pedestrians being erratic.

The father in law just upgraded his Tesla to one with the self drive. We plugged in the local shops and it gets you there pretty calmly. You have to choose a parking spot and it parks itself, it feels like it might run down a child or back into a car but doesn't. Still hate the felling of not being in control. I remember the first one he had just held in it's own lane a braked and that was creepy enough.

Apparently we are still a Tesla self drive version behind here and the newer upgrade is a fair bit better again. It's inevitable that we won't have cab drivers in the near future. Technology is probably still safer than human error.

Yeah I've done a few thousand ks in the US on self driving, zero issues - but then I guess it's all fine until it isn't

When you still have to sit there and watch the road...i figure i may as well mess around with steering wheels and accelerators and crap while i'm sitting there. You still get booked if you go on the phone.

There have been a few Waymo accidents where its completely bizzare....BANG ....parked car, or pole. They say they have not caused any injuries yet, but the truth is, they have not been proven to cause any injuries.

Mostly works ok , isn't really good enough.

I'd like one of those double cut away sparkle jets. Something subtle. Not a big fan of semi acoustics generally these days. What are the modern Gretschs like in build quality and soundwise?
