What a f****** idiot. That source of hers was probably Trump

It’s even worse because “There's a difference between a 15 year old and a 5 year old." are her own words. In 38% of American states where 15 is below the age of consent, there isn’t a difference. It’s pedophilia.

I think there is a difference when it comes to prosecution but you're right that they're both entirely illegal

I think practically everything takes Afterpay as a payment option now.

For some people I actually think it's smarter than a credit card that they're never able to pay down. At least Afterpay forces payments on a regular basis, rather than just the minimum payment a CC does.

Credit cards come with points or other benefits, and can help your credit rating, whereas afterpay doesn't I don't believe.

I know Dan Murphy's only recently did a deal with afterpay so I guess things are still gradually setting up partnerships.

Does afterpay not provide the ability to create a one time use card like the rest of them do?

I've always found it odd people getting excited that "payment plan service x" is now available in" store y" as you can just generate a card and use it anywhere, online or in person.

edit: ****ing forum keeps stuffing up my formatting.

Yeah I have an Awards card for the points. Don't believe afterpay does that - although if you default on afterpay, surely it would impact you somehow?

No I'm pretty sure there card still works as a payment plan, it just gives the 'freedom' to purchase in store, rather than online.

I actually heard there going to get a whole lot more strict around these BNPL products, which can only really be a good thing.

Purchases are split into 4 payments over 8 weeks. EG you buy $200 worth of piss at Dans that would be debited as $50 in 2 weeks, $50 2 weeks after that and so on.

There's a monthly fee when you owe money of course. No interest payable, there are penalties if you miss debit repayments though.

If you have outstanding debts on your Afterpay - and even just having an Afterpay account - will impact your borrowing capacity.

100m over 5 years not enough to retire on apparently:

Inflation must be a bitch over there.

Hey that's not fair!

It's only 60 million after tax 🥴

Just paid for 5 passports, 2 x adult, 3 x kids for a 1 month trip to Europe in Easter next year. $1454.

Just a bloody rip off, our 10 year passports expired last year and the kids 5 year passports expired last year. I am sure my last one in 2015 was about $150-$200!!

I don't remember it being anywhere near as much and it's the most expensive passport in the world.

Seems like a tax grab to me. While at the post office a I overhead a bloke next to me needing to travel within 5 days and he coughed up an extra $304.00 to do get a passport in 2 business days.

...must be nice being able to afford a family trip for a month to Europe next year.
