The video is pretty funny with the Rocky theme blaring
Saw that, also wouldn't call it walking as it was more of a shuffle but then the on the spot and down it went was "typical Russia".
Robotics is funny like that, I mean the USA & EU tech space is bipedal and quad legged bots with some decent "this can do 1-2 things" in demo. Meanwhile, China Russia and general Asia either have an x-box controller or random joypad and it falls down after 5 steps and faceplants whilst they scream "lookit this wonderful AI!" all around.
We already use robotics in manufacturing things and medicine, so it really shouldn't be that hard to make a robot that walk properly all things considered.
In other news..
4x boxes, 2x bags and I now only have to clear our a cabinet so I can maybe move the freezer to then access the plumbing to then measure for actual laundry which I'll probably have to remove when I re-tile the place. The skips I'm looking at might no longer be suitable given well going to have to utalise hard pick up instances for the mattresses to clean another room out.
Is it wrong to say I am looking forward to sanding and painting instead?

We've just bought our first robot at work, to replace manual assembly, its coming up to its anniversary and still not commissioned. Lots of things in the environment need to be absolutely perfect ( position / consistency ) . We'll get there but they are still a lot way from the kind of plug and play humans provide.
Tesla is banking their future fortunes on driverless cabs and worker robots.
Yeah if a driverless cab runs you over, you have the right to sue a megacorporation.
Suing megacorporation's, is like playing poker with Kerry Packer.
You can win if they don't keep raising.
My mate who works for Google has done a few videos of Waymo rides he's taken in LA in heavy traffic. There are a few close calls but mostly cyclists and pedestrians being erratic.
The father in law just upgraded his Tesla to one with the self drive. We plugged in the local shops and it gets you there pretty calmly. You have to choose a parking spot and it parks itself, it feels like it might run down a child or back into a car but doesn't. Still hate the felling of not being in control. I remember the first one he had just held in it's own lane a braked and that was creepy enough.
Apparently we are still a Tesla self drive version behind here and the newer upgrade is a fair bit better again. It's inevitable that we won't have cab drivers in the near future. Technology is probably still safer than human error.

When you still have to sit there and watch the road...i figure i may as well mess around with steering wheels and accelerators and crap while i'm sitting there. You still get booked if you go on the phone. My mate who works for Google has done a few videos of Waymo rides he's taken in LA in heavy traffic. In the west sure, in the east not so much as some of those is "see an obstacle, think for a bit and them ram right through" that are getting stuck on pot holes, stairs, subways, rails, going into wrong lanes and etc. The problems will always be in the "these places don't exactly have road rules" areas that the self driving AI will run into problems.
We get garbage trucks out on the main road here, EVERYONE crosses the double lines slightly to get past them. I imagine a crawl of self drivers stuck behind them, stopping at every rubbish bin. ( Today a car managed to stick itself into the spoon drain that stops the truck moving further over looked freaky you could probably walk under the back wheel that was sticking up in the air, front wheel down in the drain ).
This thread within a thread is one of the saddest things I’ve ever had the misfortune of readingThey go around things pretty well. If anything you feel like they could be a bit more conservative by moving into a lane you are going to turn from etc. They drive pretty calmly and overall it doesn't feel stressful.

Why the desperate plunge into “safe”, world would be a far better place if we all drove 2 door V8s again![]()

What are we looking at Sully?
I've been dreaming about this one. My wife will kick me out if I bring another one home. I wanted a Crestwood since I sold one when I was younger. It's been messed around with but if it was original it's a $10,000 guitar.

Have you checked out the new Synchromatic line? Meant to fit in between the Professional line from Japan and the Electromatics. They include a White Falcon, a Black Falcon and a take on the 6120...Cool mate. I've never played one.
I know they're highly regarded though.
I'm going down a Gretsch Jet path.... again lol.
Or even a Black falcon.

And coincidentally I spotted this on gumtree a couple of days ago (no affiliation!)...
