This is just an extension of the roll over strategy has been going for years now. Yes its sneaky but its a brilliant marketing strategy and I don’t really have a problem with it, I accepted it as a necessary tool to grow St Kilda FC in a pretty passive market.
Its switching round the call to action from competing the citizen to act if they want something to compelling them to act if they don't want something and relying on most people's ambivalence or laziness to not bother cancelling.
That's just the way things are now. And I'm sorry, but anyone who just thought the club would magically give away tens of thousands of something valued at 200€ for seven bucks to celebrate a player re-signing is just being naïve. The club need more of us signed up, call it bait on a hook or the first free sample of a drug, the strategy was super clear.
