Only if Lance wants to put the work in ,
Ryan kicked 9 goals in his first 5 games in 2025 - pretty tidy results for a half fit player.Only if Ryan puts in the work.
Liam is notorious for not liking the heavy preseason running loads. Will almost on que pick up a minor leg injury that stops him pushing hard in preseason early.
When the balls come out he becomes engaged.
Often takes 4 to 6 weeks longer to catch up and get match fit in season.
So not exactly the mentor you want for Collard during preseason.
In season once he gets match fit, different player than early preseason.

Thankfully its an easy solution for the Saints now - Higgo can play a bit further up the ground until Ryan gets fully fit then they can rotate at will.

Okay. Thanks for letting us know that West Coast let players not complete their fitness plans and then play the first five rounds to get fit.You got me.
I personally am responsibke for Ryan historically not putting in pre Christmas pre season running loads. Its actually why he requested a trade. All should be perfectly fine now. You have norhing to be concerned about. Happy days.
Gresham also used to get "niggles" during pre season running program, and was never fit enough. Ross showed him the door pretty quickly. It will be interesting to see if we can get Liam 10% or 20% fitter than normal this preseason, just keeping him in the program.Only if Ryan puts in the work.

No-one expects him to beat Darcy Wilson but if he can get through the sessions at a steady rate it may be show in the games.. anyway.. lets see how he goes
Gresham has also looked lost at Essendon, been dropped and used as the sub.Gresham just looked lost under Ross Lyon. He was a guy who played on instinct and his inability to fit into the system seemed to destroy his confidence. I think it was form not fitness that pushed him out.
Ryan looks like a burst athlete not an endurance beast. He doesn't need to run a marathon, just keep his sprint game tight and he's a huge asset. We didn't buy a sports car to tow a caravan.
Gresh's issue is that he lost his One Wood... his agility.Gresham has also looked lost at Essendon, been dropped and used as the sub.
His problem is not having a position... doesn't have the tank for midfield and isn't dangerous enough for a small forward
Correct. We weren't all collectively delusional when we used to rate him highly.Gresh's issue is that he lost his One Wood... his agility.
The achilles totally destroyed his career.
