With Edwards id rather have played him where hes comfortable, I mean we made the point of moving him back so why not play him when he shows a fair bit.
But its a fair point you raise.
What I don’t understand is that the non-key depth list appeared to be:
Defence - Smith, Bond, Edwards, Ryan, (Nank/Jones)
Forward - Murphy
Wing - Nank, Jones, Dowling
Just seems very lopsided. I’m guessing that Rankine would have pushed one of the 8 defenders out of our Hawks 23 rather than Pedlar or Taylor. And 2026 it’s no different, you’d be confident that Ah Chee boots Pedlar or Taylor to forward depth where they replace Murphy.
I think the biggest problem is the fixation with roles. Even if you’d contribute equal to Murphy in his role, the fact you’re not designated a small forward means you’re not considered when an opportunity presents.
