I agree. I was hoping last year that he'd not be given a contract offer of any large proportion, so he'd go for FA. Unreliable footballer. Miller not much better. Our KPD stocks are overrated. We need both Gibcus and Gray to come on.
Miller has improved.
Gibcus is the key.If he stays injury free.

Doubt we will need to. One of the many forwards we took last year will ultimately fall into the role and probably become good there too, Our talent problem moving forward is the midfield. We need more drafts to get some semi-super mids. That is what we need from here
what do u see for tim sim ?

Agree to disgree. I’d have Balta settling back in our backline as probably our biggest team improver in 2026.
He is apparently very dialed in this pre season and looking to pay us back for last year. He owes us and he knows it.

I am glad to hear that he's dialled in, but he doesn't "owe" us anything.

After his shit year last year and disruption to the team, 7 year contract, supposed to be a leader, he ****n owes us after that shit and I dont care who disagrees.

Edit: to be clear, you realise I was replying to a Balta comment not Gibcus?

Balta and Miller have 5-7 years left. Trainor is tall enough to play 3rd tall at a minimum. Gibcus is the icing on the cake not the make or break.
With Miller set to become an unrestricted free agent in 2026, hopefully Richmond can secure a strong compensation pick similar to what Melbourne, St Kilda, or the West Coast Eagles have received.

Balta unavailability was caused by his off-field actions:
  • the incident disrupted the team preparations
  • reputational damage to the club from the video footage
  • Yze had to defend him/Richmond in the media creating a distraction for the club

He had a down year while dealing with personal matters outside of his workplace. Were those personal matters of his own doing? Sure, but people make mistakes and it's how they come back from them that is the important thing.
We need to look at it like anyone else in a job. With his contract, there is certainly a level of expectation/KPIs that he needs to deliver for said contract, but I fundamentally disagree with the premise that he "owes" us for a disrupted year.

That's fine, but I cant see how you can possibly arrive at that opinion.

FWIW, I was wrong once to ;)

Miller won't be going anywhere

Rules have been changed. Will be lucky to get a pick 5 for him even if we finish last.

Because you need to take away the emotion of being a supporter from the fact that our players are employees at their job.
I am sure on a personal level and as a competitor, he has a sense of pride that wants to get back to the form he knows he can get to, but I certainly don't believe like he should feel like he's in debt to the club
