That makes no sense at all. Get the F2 and maybe it can be bundled up with other picks to get higher up the draft order, could be used in a trade for a player etc etc. To get nothing is a far worse position that to get something especially a pick in the 2nd round in what is considered a better (less compromised) draft AND the last draft before Tassie impact hits
They have Caylen Murray next year who some rate as a 1st rounder, points aren't anything to be sneezed at.

Nice little article on Ah Chee's decision to join the Crows today, where he highlights his relationship with Murray Davis as a key factor.

“I’ve got a really close relationship with Murray Davis, and he was really good for me throughout this whole process,” Ah Chee said.

“He was really honest with me about what the Club’s like, what the people are like and that ended up becoming a really big draw for me making the decision to come here.

“I’ve had a very long affiliation with Muz, I won my first premiership with him, he was my forward coach and also my backs coach throughout my time in Brisbane, so I’ve kind of been with him the whole way to be honest.

“I just think he’s a great person, and he’s so knowledgeable as well, he’s very understanding of his players and how they like to be coached, and that’s what I liked about him most.

“He’s always understood me and how I like to be coached, and I’m always going to have a lot of time for Muz.”

Seems like he's also close with Rankine (from his time at GC) and Milera (from the same draft year) as well.

Speaks incredibly well, can see why he will be good for the group.
I liked his comments around living in the shadow of the Bronco's and embracing the intensity of moving to a proper football town.

With each of these types of guy choosing us, the recruiting pathway becomes easier to follow for others yet to come.

Did he say that? It sounded like he mostly talked about his relationship with Davis.
And wanting to be closer to family, play at AO, the Ranger has splashed a fair bit of mayo on a new recruit being complimentary of his new coach, like who wouldn’t?

Lol, just listened to the piece, I don’t think Heinz have any Mayo left, Ranger used it all

Dawson. Rankine. Ah Chee. Every Crow who comes home sows a seed of doubt in oppo recruiters minds when they think about drafting an Adelaide footballer (or just a supporter with SA links in Ah Chee's case).

Which is great!

I was going to write a response but the amount of gaslighting made the sun seem dark

It's a strange position for BRIS, and I don't subscribe to the "we won't be pushed around" story

On the converse, ADEL have demonstrated previously their preparedness to use the PSD .....so that history didn't worry BRIS apparently, so I doubt BRIS's stance will deter another Club in the future
WW he is not a star player
They chose their ground on face value for sure.
Can you name the times AFC have used the PSD as I cannot recall a lot

Also speaks about chatting with Nicks.

Jackson Hately and the story was Jason McCartney was busy with other trades so it didn't get done before the deadline. Thankfully.

Dawson wasn't anywhere near the same but Sydney perceived it that there was the threat not that we even threatened it.

The interesting comment to me was about Davis being "really honest" with him about the club, the people and the environment.

That's a somewhat loaded comment. If Davis had nothing but good things to say, then there wouldn't be any need to say that he was being "really honest". That sounds more like Davis had good and bad things to say, and then let Ah Chee weigh up his options.

At the end of the day, it seems pretty clear that the allure of moving closer to family and playing for the club he supported as a kid did 90% of the heavy lifting here, as well as feeling like he had already achieved his goals at Brisbane and paid them back for their faith in him. He just did due diligence and made sure he wasn't moving to a basket case.

Apparently mentioning that he spoke to Nicks a few times, actually meant that it was Nicks who convinced him to come to Adelaide and nothing or no one else influenced the decision. First class gaslighting.

It’s interesting because in one interview he talked up the Nicks vision and how excited it made him feel and then in another it was his respect for Davis and his honest opinion of the club which helped him decide. It sounds like both were instrumental. Anyway the who doesn’t matter, let’s see what our team structure looks like with him in it.

He said he was “excited by the opportunity”
