my old man hit the nail on the head not enough footballers out there to sustain all clubs

Sadly yes. Like we spoke about on the eastern FNL thread, if a former powerhouse like doncaster can go into recess it can happen to anyone, tough times for all clubs metro/country

How about Xavs etc. with up to 5 thirds teams.

true but they are a fantastic school that keeps growing more and more footballers through high school who want to stay around and play in the ammos side I don’t blame em
and their facilities? Wow. was there this year and they are state of the art and as good as ive ever seen

compare that to a swinburne or chaddy and how can they compare or compete with that

swinburnes only chance of recruiting is to hope and pray a few country lads rock up to their open day and wanna play local footy for the uni

not sure old Xavier are the right club to compare with as they are pretty much all home grown school boys
similar with delasalle

i think the issue is that more and more players have got hand out for cash and want to go somewhere for success
which leaves little poor clubs like eley park and chaddy etc behind

Majority of those 3rds teams are just mates playing together. It's happened in the past where a large group of mates have left an old boys club to do to a lover div club or even a club in another comp. Recent examples St Kevins/East Malvern and Scotch had a number of young kids all leave together but the club they went to escapes me, maybe Richmond Centrals?

It doesn't work though, the new club wants to promote those who show talent and the kids just want to play together. The while thing often disbands within 12 months
