Also lol at the ABC only posting comments from No advocates. Why are they so biased on this? Its very disappointing.
I was born in Hobart in 1975. On every occasion where there has been debate over a major piece of infrastructure or industry in Tasmania they have been nakedly against it. The Franklin dam, the Wesley Vale pulp mill, old growth logging, the Gunns pulp mill, salmon farming, etc.

Now I am not saying they were right or wrong on those issues. But it would have been completely out of political character for the ABC to support the stadium.

evidently by convention in the event of a tie, the speaker votes no
The convention is that they vote to retain the status quo. In this case, it would be a no.

Convention was blown out of the water when the Speaker voted to oust the Premier.

Also by convention Labor members vote with the party so I don't know which convention wins. It would be brave to vote against the party and kill the stadium the prime minister even supports just to follow a non-binding convention.
Apparently the Devonport branch of the ALP is upset because they voted no stadium. :$

Tie is off the cards now lol

Let it go Roland Browne let it go.
You ain't stopping this stadium getting built now champ.
He came out again earlier today and said they are ready to mobilise in numbers and fight the stadium if it is approved. He said they beat the Gunns Pulp Mill in 2007 after it was approved by the Tasmanian parliament.

Only reason they would say that is that the Main Stadium is in Hobart and not up north
That would still mean no team and that's a weird horse to back.

You also can't tell me diehards won't travel. I did longer trips to the footy when I lived in WA.

Him and his cronies have got no hope of stopping this train from rolling.
They're ready to start construction the moment it gets official tick off
