We lost the cowboys and titans games without a recognised halfback.
Both Doueihi and Latu were out of the first game after 50 mins and Latu again got injured in the last game.
Half back is the most important position on the field.
As much as I like what Luai has brought to the club, he’s a five eighth.

Only way from here is up if we can keep our 7s injury free

Again, why buy KPP? The Parramatta match showed everything that is wrong with his game. He just doesn't get involved. He's the king of the dummy run, and the third man in the tackle. He could learn a lesson from his Parra opposite number Jack Williams (or nearly any second-rower in the comp, really).

The starting point for the Tigers to make the jump from promising - which no one can deny they have been this year - to finals, is eliminating these brain fart periods they have in seemingly every game they’ve competed in but lost, where they’ve just given up 20 minutes of footy where the opposition hasn’t had to earn their dominance. And yes some of that has owed to losing players in-game.

Games have ebbs and flows and sometimes you can cop those defeats where you’re on top of the opposition for a while and then they work their way back into the game.

A Roosters example this year was the first Bulldogs game. We led by 14, and gradually in the second half just through sheer weight of possession they scored 3 tries and got ahead: we didn’t ‘clock off’ as such, they just arm wrestled us out of the game. Other times we were on top like the Souths or Titans games and then just decided to not play for 10-15 minutes and it was game over.

The Tigers have done this a lot. And it shouldn’t be hard to fix. Make those periods where the other team has the momentum a 2-try patch instead of 4. That alone would have probably given them an extra two or three wins this season.

There's definitely a lot to build upon, and if the brain farts can be eliminated, then the future looks very, very promising (injuries permitting). I thought Doueihi and Luai looked like a solid halves pairing, and Latu Fainu showed a lot of promise, too.

Definitely looking forward to next season.

Madge takes another side to a grand final.
Left us with a spoon yet I don’t blame him for our plight.
Just don’t understand how there was no real improvement under his reign despite having a dysfunctional board.

He was fired we can’t really blame him.

Had the wrong culture at the club for him at the time.

While Benji is a different style of coach than him I think the culture we have now that Benji has built would fit Madge better than when we had him back then.

Yeah I worded the ‘ left’ part badly, my point was such a dismal outcome sandwiched between successful campaigns.
