OP and at risk of missing the season
Peculiar if it is OP as he didn't seen enormously inhibited at end of Sanfl season (his output rds 14 to 18 were pretty good), it would have to developed/worsened during the break. Perhaps he was trying to do too much to prepare himself and pushed through the pain initially. Timeline for OP recovery can be highly variable, usually at least 3 months rest before easing back into training.

Agreed, especially as Draper looked bloody quick against North, as much as it ran himself into trouble that game as he didn't realise how quick he was.

Ah well, it's a shit happens kind of deal if it's legitimate. At least its in November-December, and not late February.

Where has this been confirmed?
Nowhere, whilst there may be some truth, people are acting like he's about to retire and he's not just a 19 year old still getting his body AFL ready. As much as I want to see him flourish, 10 game Draper wasn't going to be the difference between winning a final or not.

If true & Draper has a back issue .....it's the same issue that restricted his last PS, and a factor in him being managed during the year

A reoccurrence simply validates why the Club was being ultra cautious with Draper during 2024

Lucky Draper is playing at the highest level and will have access to all the best treatments to ensure he has the best possible outcome. I'm not gonna have a hissy fit about a rumour in December that hasn't been validated anywhere. He might just have to join Tex at pilates now!

If he's not able to train after a 3 month break from football that's a pretty big concern imho

No comment of note coming from the club has me worried. Not even jogging laps on the sidelines with the other injured players

If it was good news / only minor they'd be trumpeting it you'd think

That’s the thing, he’s doing nothing outside that requires using his legs.

Our useless football media have failed to cotton on to actually ask the question.

It’s his groins, not his back, although they could be related. I know every time my back plays up from a 30 years ago injury, my hamstring and quads are tight as shit. Can’t stretch the back until I’ve stretched the leg muscles.

When Curtin cracked it I thought Nicks had finally got it.

Put these guys in, show them faith, and let them adjust to the level.

But here we are, Nicks is scared to back Dan in in the big moment, despite him playing pretty well, and wasted a year of Sid in the 2s, giving games to blokes that looked scared of their shadow on the big stage.

Sid needs to play round 1, and never leave. I don’t care if he has 3 touches in a game. BACK HIM IN.

That's what a good coach would do.

Yep, unlike most clubs, ours never ever gets anything wrong. You’re an astute judge Waynus.

And you’re also on record as saying ‘never believe anything an AFL club says’. So which is it, wait for the club to speak or place some trust in inside info combined with the fact that he hasn’t been seen training yet?
