He couldn’t have asked for better conditions. It was a sublime innings from an all time great of the game.
Soft pink ball against a second rate bowling attack. I don’t rate it at all.

O’Neill statistically is Shields #1 bowler.Richardson breaks down more often than an English fast bowler.
And the other two are worse Shield bowlers than Doggett, so how would they improve the line up?
Richardson's injury hasn't caused him many issues with bowling, it's throwing he's had issues with which you can deal with.Richardson breaks down more often than an English fast bowler.
Doesn't help when he is ordered to bowl short trash. He got into the team bowling full not this bullshit

I think the idea from Smith will be that we only bat once. Nesar and Inglis stiffen the batting order some.
It'd be nice to walk out tomorrow and the day after and hit 600 odd, with Carey getting a cheeky 150 on day 3.
I think that was part of the issue, outside Starc and at times Boland everybody else lacked penetration to really cause any concern for a player of Root's stature. Take Starc's wickets away and the run out the others took 2 wickets between them. Cummins and Hazlewood is a totally different proposition. Both bowl faster and get bounce. We need them badly.
Reckon there was a bit of a tactical win for the PomsIt's the mindset of not wanting to bat and making it obvious that everyone watching knows it.
Pitch is a road..we will make 500+
If you're writing off test match 100s because they came in good batting conditions - that's an enormous percentage of test match hundreds you'd need to write off.He couldn’t have asked for better conditions.

They're referring to him ****ing shit up with his social skills and not his tactics
An extra 60 runs in what should be prime batting conditions won't matter as much as some are making it out to IMO. It's hard to find a better batting surface than Day 2 at the Gabba. What's worse? Chasing 280 and being 1/10
It doesn't cost us penalty points until England bat for over 160 overs in both innings combined.
Spot onReckon there was a bit of a tactical win for the Poms
Kitted everyone up in whites as though they were about to declare and bowl. We take our foot off the gas a fraction, waiting. Then it doesn't come and we've lost control.
I think it's time Travis Head was given the keys to the captaincy. Smith made some pretty ordinary decisions in that final session. Smith doesn't NEED to be captain, he can focus on his batting. AUS need new ideas - fresh set of eyes. Alex Carey can be vice-captain.
He’s done it once in Australia and it has a huge asterisk against it.If you're writing off test match 100s because they came in good batting conditions - that's an enormous percentage of test match hundreds you'd need to write off.
Archer has six First-Class half-centuries...he averages 22.28.....he can bat. He's no mug with the bat.
Aside from the 2 new ball wickets the rest have all been shit batting. As soon as the ball gets soft it’s a batsman’s dream
Makes Atkinson's shot look rather odd really.
Yeah this is why I don’t rate the Root 100 nor Englands batting lineup.
Been very lucky this series, winning both coin tosses and facing state bowlers, yet still find themselves chasing the series.
Clarke was great at ramming home an advantage. If we had a sniff, he'd put his foot on the throat of the opposition. Where he came up short was stealing the initiative back from the opposition when they were on top. Once we slipped behind, Clarke was rarely able to come back.No doubt Clarke has lots of problems off the field but on it he had good tactics and would never have put 9 guys on the fence like that
It should be penalty points no matter what. They need to start suspending players hard. If footballers can run cricketers can move faster between overs.
Pretty typical of CA as well.Yep. Can see us getting 400-450.
