The plot moving along nicely. The events in Paraguay were 3 days before Carol left Las Vegas so Manousos might be in Albuquerque by the time she gets home. Though driving an old MG isn't a realistic way of making that journey. We learnt a little more about his searching on radio frequencies. Does the sound on 8.613 relate to the signal the astronomers found?
Obviously he doesn't know this yet, but he could have asked for a plane and saved himself days in a car

Old mate, Mr Diabate living his best life in Vegas
assuming he's shagged some of those many honeys and got at least one of them pregnant, they then have his stem cells. Maybe that was part of their plan all along.

He gives the impression though that he's unconcerned about eventually becoming one of them.

It's actually impossible to drive from Paraguay to North America because of the Darién Gap, a dense jungle between Panama and Colombia.

I agree with Carol - hivemind morality sucks. They won't pick an apple off a tree but they will allow billions of people to starve. The whole of humanity are now slaves to 12 people, including beautiful women being sexual playthings for powerful men - another Soylent Green reference. Diabaté missed a trick. He could have got the actual actors to recreate the scene from Casino Royale.

The frequency looks like a key to something, perhaps related to how the hive stays in sync, disrupt the signal and destroy the hive maybe.

Another good episode, really felt for Carol, how rough would it be being basically rejected by what is left of humanity and potentially facing a future totally alone but she did seem accepting of it by episodes end. Luckily help from Paraguay is on the way although I can't see the smoothest of relationships developing between those two 😂.

I can see this ending on a cliffhanger. A second series has already been commissioned.

And where are all the children? Despite their bizarre willingness to accept and even embrace this new reality, McBoner and the other unaffected at least seem to be more inquisitive than Carol. If I was on a plane to Spain I'd ask a thousand questions about what the hell was going on.

that the other 12 are on zoom calls with each other means the internet is still active. at least fixed line broadband internet and WiFi at homes, given we know that they've killed mobile telco networks so no 4G or 5G.
To me this is a key plot point that seems to have been conveniently swept under the carpet, that internet is still available.

Interesting that the 8613 Khz frequency is a long range signal, best heard at night where there is minimal interference. That discovery will surely come back into play at some point, possibly as a connection for how the joined communicate with each other, and/or how Carol reverses the joined process

He could have had a harem of famous hotties, hehe.

It would be in keeping with his character but somehow I don't think the likes of Scarlett Johansson, Zendaya and Natalie Portman would sign up for those roles in the show.

Last week, one of the reviewers picked up that the hive started calling Zosia 'she'. I didn't think anything of it until "Hello Carol. We're John Cena". Has Zosia been reverted?

If they are going to starve themselves to death my guess is they are the advance party for whatever alien race wants to take over the planet.

If that was the intention the aliens could have sent a killer virus.

The signal came from 600 light years away so it would take 600 years to reach Earth. But it relies on fairly modern technology for it to be interpreted by scientists and turned into a virus. How would the aliens know what stage life on Earth was up to? My guess is that the show won't really concern itself with that and focus on the human reactions to what has happened.

They can't deliberately kill though and time is all relative. What's the end game if as a hive they are going to slowly starve? It's a weird one.

Watched a vid on that recently and it does look like that is what has happened, getting blown up and having the cardiac arrest ' disconnected' Zosia from the hive so it is possible to reverse this thing. That frequency will be the backbone of the hive network I am betting.

That’s a good get. I never picked up them calling her “she”.

Wow, that could be interesting.

The reveals on the Paraguay guy will be interesting too. Why is he checking the frequencies so meticulously? He knows stuff we don’t.

I am loving this show. In terms of last man on earth style shoes, nice to have something different to virus or zombies or other event killing everyone. Still wondering if the hive are going to turn at some point though. Also really enjoyed we're John Cena. Hopefully some more fun cameos to come.

The people that have been hived can't kill. Doesn't mean the aliens that sent the code aren't happy to kill or starve a population to allow themselves to take over the planet.

I assume he's just hunting for other survivors. I've got no doubt it will be more important than that but don't think he's scanning frequencies because he knows stuff we don't.

The rat in the lab didn't become passive.

The code seems very specific for changing human behaviour - but probably unfeasibly so. For example, how could aliens from 600 years ago and 600 light years away know human biology on earth? I don't think the show will go into the origins and motivations of the signal too much. How could the hive have any insight into that? It's more about exploring the different characters' reactions to the situation.

Yeah I don't think this has an origin story.

It's an allegory for AI and the effects on people.
