Same as Three Dads or Four Dads or whatever her name is / wasShe is, but she does not want to play for the Dogs.
She's won them against her own peers, just like Bont or West did. That's all you can do.Sorry but I disagree TK. That provides no more perspective than saying NM women’s winning streak is an AFL/AFLW record.
For obvious reasons we can’t seriously compare the two comps and I think we should acknowledge that. One has over 125 years of development, evolution, fierce competitiveness and history. It has spawned a hugely competitive breeding ground of juniors. The other is a fledgling comp still in its infancy and neither the comp nor the individual teams are genuinely settled and balanced yet. Junior girls footy as a feeder is still developing.
My understanding (correct me if I’m wrong) is that a good proportion of those who have joined the AFLW ranks over the last decade - especially in its early years - are teenage (or older) converts from other sports. That’s nothing like the competitive peer environment that the Wests, the Hawkins and the Bontempellis emerged from as juniors and stood head and shoulders above as adults.
None of that is to deny Ellie her laurels. She is a deserving legend of our women’s side and our club.
I’d much rather regard Ellie in her own context. In terms of her ChrisGrant-like loyalty (in spite of what would have been huge inducements to follow all those others who turned their backs on us) and what she has achieved as a player, a leader and a role model. Despite missing a season with a ruptured ACL.
But if comparisons really are in order, then within our AFLW ranks there’s noone who comes near her. And I reckon it’ll be a while before any woman emerges who does.

She does she isn’t like KristieShe is, but she does not want to play for the Dogs.
If you have a look into norths history with women’s football, you’ll see that the AFL did everything they could to exclude us from the initial batch of teams. It has been so badly curated from the moment it expanded beyond the only two clubs that showed real pioneering commitment to women’s football- us and Melbourne FC.
our future first tied to the blues which will be a better pickNorth have traded out their first rounder for Carlton's future first. Interesting. What are they going to pay for KLWT?
Not surprised with this news.Haha North Melbourne have offered pick 37 hope the club tell them to get ****ed

Former No.1 pick's trade hopes in danger as negotiations break down
Kristie-Lee Weston-Turner may have to nominate for the draft if a deal can't be struckwww.afl.com.au
I would be fine if the club walks away from the Cann deal if Collingwood are heel bent on pick 8. As for KWT I would be happy to send her to the draft pick 37 is laughableNot surprised with this news.
The Lions and Hawks both have 2nd round picks ahead of North and would be likely to draft her before 37.
Cann didn't even finish in the top 10 of the Pies' B+F this season despite playing every game and their team being utterly woeful.
They can also get ****ed and they can deal with the consequences of having a disgruntled player in 2026. A second round pick for her is fair.

Dogs need to be bringing in highly skilled players this year. Cann is not one of those.I would be fine if the club walks away from the Cann deal if Collingwood are heel bent on pick 8. As for KWT I would be happy to send her to the draft pick 37 is laughable
Laura Kane never played AFLW but she did play for Melbourne University I Think North Melbourne have links with that University in somewayNot surprised, they got most of their list coming into the competition for free, many played in this years premiership. Laura Kane played for Norf, did she not, maybe Francis Burke was referring to her, when he talked about shite sandwich this pioneering club got handed trading our players when Norf came in, and in true Norf form trying to claim the AFLW was their innovation.![]()
Just expecting some goodwill after we paid overs for Caleb DanielIf I was KWT I would be questioning how much North really want her. For a number 1 pick in 2023 to now be worth pick 37 in a modest draft is an insult to her let alone us. Maybe she should re evaluate where she wants to play.
6th in your B+F ahead of McKercher and Powell who played the same number of games. Well ahead of Zurhaar who only played one less.Just expecting some goodwill after we paid overs for Caleb Daniel
Just nogotiate with another club willing to pay a fair price.Wonder if we end up compromising on two seconds? Neither side happy but the trade would probably get made.
North have already traded their 2026 2nd to Carlton in a pick swap deal. No doubt their main intent in that deal was to try and shaft us.Wonder if we end up compromising on two seconds? Neither side happy but the trade would probably get made.

KWT may agree to clubs on the up like Hawthorn/Carlton?
