I have advocated for Sheez to become captain for a while.

However I am also aware that what I think or want and what the club are largely two different things.

I envisage that you next Captain will be Souv.

I expect that the leadership group next year will be

Souv C
Sheez VC
X DVC

In wanting out, if he stays it simply cannot be Jy.

Ando can **** off.

Anyone else sick of these campaigners who know **** all weighing in.

I’m happy for Harry to be or not be captain it’s the ****wits who opine who should do what with no credibility in the game saying what clubs should do

... the article is quoting Denis Pagan saying that he believes Sheezel should be captain.

NICK Larkey is set to be North Melbourne's next captain after being voted in as the club's new skipper.

AFL.com.au understands Larkey is set to lead the Roos in 2026, taking over the position from Jy Simpkin.

The board will have to ratify the decision before an announcement is confirmed.

Simpkin was co-captain for two seasons before taking over the sole captaincy in 2025 but after he explored a trade out of the Roos in the off-season, he stepped aside from North's leadership process ahead of next year.

Welp, not the selection I was hoping to see, but I'll fall in line and back him in. He obviously loves the club and is respected by his peers so who the hell am I to disagree.

However, he simply must cut out the on-field sooking and finger pointing moving forward. Can't have the Captain doing that stuff.

Fwiw I think Harry would be a cold hearted assassin as leader.

More tunnel visioned set the standard Nathan Buckley than pal and buddy Luke McDonald.
I'm starting to suspect there's a not insignificant playing contingent whose may feel a bit put out of place by said tunnel vision. I hope not, but can't shake the feeling.

I don't like the idea of a captain sitting at full forward. I suspect this might also signal a positional change to CHF where he is more involved in the game and we have a bigger body with stickier hands (Darling/Trembath) at full forward.

Happy for this.
Larkey to shoulder most of the burden for a couple of years, and Harry to take over at 22, just as we are starting to play finals.

Even though not named in the " Leadership Group " i have zero doubts Luke Parker will continue to provide his valuable input in that regard.

Definitely like to see him spend more time at CHF.
I like the idea of us clearing out the goal square periodically for one of Trembath, Curtis, Zuurhar or Dovaston (premature I know) - whoever has the best match-up. Its what Brisbane started to do more of when they recruited Charlie Cameron ... they instantly looked dangerous up forward.
