Your entire gameplan revolves around 'Get Nick the ball/club champion/Brownlow'.
Without him in the side, Collingwood wouldn't be anywhere near it.

I mean, isn't your club changing the rules so Nick can win the club champion, after the carry on over how he missed the Brownlow only to award the BnF to Cameron?
Oldest list in the AFL and didn't bring much youth in via the draft due to having traded their picks. McRae has said he wants ready made players not draft picks but do you think Collingwood need to begin a rebuild? List management is like a matrix very hard to maintain the right balance and Geelong have managed to do it best over a long period. It'll be interesting to see if Collingwood can remain a contender while turning their list over and not entertaining the prospect of entering a rebuild.
I'll let you keep claiming that Collingwood's game plan is simply 'get it to Nick and nothing else', it's a good reflection of your knowledge.I mean, isn't your club changing the rules so Nick can win the club champion, after the carry on over how he missed the Brownlow only to award the BnF to Cameron?
Or did they realise that was as dumb as it sounds?

No need to explain to you the actual reality, you wouldn't understand, because you lack knowledge.
It's been explained many times, not only on this thread, how Collingwood go about their game plan. It's fine. Everyone knows people who make these kind of statements have NFI either, which is why they can't explain it and project their ignorance onto others.
Example A of lack of knowledge.I suppose 'Get it to Jamie' is the 2nd part of the gameplan then, considering he kicked nearly double the goals of the bloke who left for Melbourne?
Are you retiring him too? He's not that old yet...Your entire gameplan revolves around 'Get Nick the ball/club champion/Brownlow'.

Love it that the Pies are a one man team, and wouldn't be anywhere near the top 4 without him, but we still should throw the baby out with the bathwater and spend the next 5 years outside the top 8 in rebuild mode, during 5 peak years of GOATcos' career...Are you retiring him too? He's not that old yet...
Hint, it's not 'get it to (insert name) and hope for the best' - not sure how you think a team with this game plan would go two and half games clear on the ladder with only one worthy player.
The suggestion(at least from myself) is that Collingwood shouldn't neglect the top end of the draft to bring in B-graders to replace their outgoing A-graders, which they've done the past couple of years, despite Naicos being the only first rounder of any value they've brought in this decade.Love it that the Pies are a one man team, and wouldn't be anywhere near the top 4 without him, but we still should throw the baby out with the bathwater and spend the next 5 years outside the top 8 in rebuild mode, during 5 peak years of GOATcos' career...
How do you know what is coming through from the last 2 to 3 drafts?Either that or they seriously need to invest in their development because there's nothing coming through underneath that looks of any particular high end quality.
Well the issue is that none of the kids who've actually played for the senior side look like anything more than role-players, at best. How do you know what is coming through from the last 2 to 3 drafts?
We develop the young kids in the VFL, and they come in when they are ready.
All we need is 2 or 3 non regular players to make it in 2026, and we're set for another year of flag contention.
From a club perspective Pendles and Sidey are club legends, but in terms of on-field output they are B graders now.Not of the quality of what is retiring.
We did the same thing early 2020s - hence the previous cliff calls.Sure every team turns over its bottom 4 or 5.
Pies are not about to lose players who aren't up to it. They are players who are 1st choice best 23 players. And help win games.
Well it's real simple, judging by how badly that same team fell away in the 2nd half of the H&A season.
That'll probably be next year, this year we went all chips in and didn't find our best form at the right time of year. Not saying they should be main stayers in the Pies side but they should be getting more of an opportunity to fast track their development, unless they're simply just not good enough to dislodge the old blokes?

Howe has been limping to the line.

We let go of players who won club BnFs (Grundy, Adams), Rising Star winner, star mid Treloar (who went on to win AA
And really important senior members of the 18-20 finals squad like Varcoe, Langdon, Mayne, Roughead, Phillips.
It is just a silly position that Collingwood made a PF in 2025 because we were reliant on the same 3 veterans that were driving us in 2018 and thus need to rebuild.
Collingwood (and all clubs) lose quality players all the time, it is only clubs who stuff up who then make the call to bottom out and stock up on kids.
I will ask again how many of the close games would Collingwood have won without Pendles, Sidebottom Howe Elliot in the same side.
Who knows they probably still would have won, they are a well drilled side and its possible others would have stepped up.I will ask again how many of the close games would Collingwood have won without Pendles, Sidebottom Howe Elliot in the same side.

What time period are you talking?I will ask again how many of the close games would Collingwood have won without Pendles, Sidebottom Howe Elliot in the same side.
Strange to throw Elliott in there. You take a 60 goal forward out of the forward line and safe to assume you’d lose a couple more game. I imagine he’d walk into every forward line in the comp based on last seasons outputI will ask again how many of the close games would Collingwood have won without Pendles, Sidebottom Howe Elliot in the same side.

How many close games did we lose with all 4 playing in?
Do we get to bring in replacements, or have to play with less players?
We have won 90% of the games Sidey / Pendles have missed since 2023 - winning 14 of 16 without them.
After Howe broke his arm in 2023 Rd1 against Geelong, he didn't play again until Rd15, by that stage Pies were sitting pretty on top of the ladder with a 11-2 record.
Jamie Elliott missed the entire 2018 season, we played in a GF without him.
Neither is your theory as like i said no one knowsSimply not true.
