Just going back to this. Yes we have to hold on how good the picks are going to be. The thing I actually like is there seems to be a plan and a type of player they want. Seems we are going after players who have no question marks as far as competing goes. There looks to be a good spread of positions. There have picked players who have the scope to move the footy and a few of them have real endurance. Leadership has also been ticked off with a few of them.Never thought id ever about Essendon and football
But likewise with Rosa for me, all im saying is we need to hold our belreath as to whether hes better than Dodoro
So far ive really liked his later picks. Angus clarke was my 2024 fav, Kondo was my 2025 fav, he held strong to get both. So i hope im right and i hope hes right. Although finding defenders past pick 25-30 is hardly nostradumus stuff (Redman, Ridley, L.Hayes, Roberts) all been in this range under Dodoro
So he hasnt really done anything yet to suggest wow this guy is well above what i could see happening
I always said if were trading all 3 x 20 picks we may aswell be gettung blues pick - ended up happening just like that
For me right now alot sits on whether Farrow and Sharp become absolute jets in the front half, that would be huge tick for Rosa, because imo he couldve grabbed a solid F1 and Lindsay instead, i wasnt an keen at the time on Farrow and he seemed to go at his highest range
But he hasnt made any errors yet (Francis, Hobbs, Mcgrath, 2 talls 2020)

We're only 10 years too late, the game is moving away from these players. The thing I love is we are drafting players who actually have height and bigger bodies aswell. Which we have lacked for a long long time!
I suppose part of it is luck. But he put us in a position to succeed with his planning and trading for Carlton and Melbourne's picks.I think Rosa lucked out a bit.
I rated Sharp and Robey higher than where they were drafted.
So Bailey humpfries is a trap and Melbourne, collingwood and hawthorn are clueless? We're only 10 years too late, the game is moving away from these players.
Not sure on that. The game is going away from slow players with limited footy IQ and average or below endurance. We're only 10 years too late, the game is moving away from these players.

Legit. Is the Bewick hype legit? Seems a few have been talking him up for years now.

Also we have less need now we have Drafted Robey, who I believe could play a smilar role, but will take time and development.Nah, spending 3 first round draft picks on a guy who goes quarters and halves without getting anywhere near it is definitely a good idea for us.
It’s real, although 2 years away, he’s looking like a really early prospectIs the Bewick hype legit? Seems a few have been talking him up for years now.
I don’t mean to sound rude but wouldn’t that be impossible at this stage.. and also detrimental to his developmentLegit.
Already a good size 180cm+ and good kick and reader of play and brings others into the game, high footy IQ.
If he grows more and keeps up his trajectory will follow in Walker / Daicos footsteps.
With changes to draft cost, I'm inclined to hide him.
Who really knows where it ends up but have been told by a few in the recruiting world that right now he is doing "similar" stuff to Nick Daicos. Maybe not quite Nicks level but certainly 90% as good. However he is still 2 seasons away and plenty of players have fallen away after being touted top 5 picks a few years out.Is the Bewick hype legit? Seems a few have been talking him up for years now.
Maybe.I don’t mean to sound rude but wouldn’t that be impossible at this stage.. and also detrimental to his development
Prioritise Bewick and then best available for our needs IMO, the same as our approach to Sweid and Huss this year. It’s real, although 2 years away, he’s looking like a really early prospect
Challenge for us is how to get the three or four kids tied to us
Koby - top 5
Moustaffa Darwish - 20-30
Tevota Rodan - 25-40
Roman Yow Yeh - late/rookie

We have ridiculous salary cap room before these guys departProvided we have a decent finish this year (8-10 range should be fine) we will have a few older players with some value ready to be moved on.
If we’re moving on 6+ guys where 3/4 have real value (could see McKay Ridley Redman and Merrett all getting moved on.)
That should generate a decent amount of draft capital. Maybe do a salary dump somewhere in there as well
What you described is a great outcome but I’m not sure we get the FAs if we also move on our three best performing senior playersWe have ridiculous salary cap room before these guys depart
But agree id take the risk if Ridley plays 18+ games than id move on for a forst round pick of some sort ie inside pick 18
Probably means Zerrett ask to depart again aswell if were moving on mature guys
Id do the same for Langford if he kicks 40+ this year aswell, if we can get a pick inside 25 for him then move him
Up offers significantly for the big 4-5 free agents

we are already an exponentially young list, who are we creating opportunities for?Wasn’t that clear in my post but the salary dump would be us taking on a bad contract for a pick.
It’s also not about cap management but about creating best 22 spots for the younger guys who deserve them who’ve been in the system a few years
