Imagine melting over the unconfirmed positional change of a 20 gamer moving 35meters up the field, in the middle of December....
Yes, the club have proven themselves to be ultra reliable with such matters and have never caused aspersions to be cast on their judgement. That's why we sit at the mighty heights of.... 16th with a slow midget once again apparently assigned to the main distribution role. Thanks for clearing that up mate

There is no way lmac gets cut. He cops a lot of shit on here , some of it is unfair. In a lot of cases he’s the only one cracking in with no one to give it off to. I’m not saying he’s a world beater but he is fine as a squad player.
It's a fair point.
He'll be over 30 and looks like he's worn a lot of hits over the years and it's starting to show imo.
I think he retires, but if he's happy to play VFL, then maybe you keep him 12 months if Darling, Corr and Parker exit.
I'm far from a hater of LMac despite my frustration at his decision making, in many ways he's held the backline together and I'd love to see him play a final before he is done a bit like Dave Swallow.
It's a balance of keeping a few experienced heads around to help Larkey and moving a few on.

Looks like the pre-Chrissy pre-season is in full swing.

Hope there is a serious focus on on football conditioning and transition execution. Players that cannot execute in transition should not be gifted games. Feels like a quieter build-up this pre-season with NMFC Media guys not putting out interview-after-interview with staff and players (i.e., Who's come back in great nick, Who's looking like they're ready for a break-out season... yada... yada). I, for one, think that's this a good sign. Let our actions do the talking as oppose to pre-season hype-up. Hope the club realises that it's time to make it happen on-field and not settle for another "we debuted some exciting talent and saw flashes of how bright the future is".

Genuinely looks to have regressed physically, must have used tarryn’s private personal trainer…

Bit of a worry when it looks like 1st and 2nd year players have already gone past him in terms of muscle definition. Though that said, i'm no expert on the matter and go only go on what i see. His upper body and arms are severely lacking. Yes, he's had his injury issues but surely he should still look a lot bigger than he does.

He's got a big contract year coming up which I would think should be a significant incentive for him to throw everything he has at it, especially since he's currently struggling to stay in the team.

I'd rather keep LMac over Corr any day!

If the reference point is the photo which originated the discussion, the lacking of muscle definition might be related to the training shirt he's wearing

Bit harsh on Banch, definitely finds the right spots and has come back amongst the top 2 or 3 in terms of his conditioning. A forward line with him and Dovaston could be epic for us. The rest, I don't disagree with.
Agree re banch………he’s a tough bugger too. We need blokes that train into the ground and set standards. Think he’s judged harshly because of where he was drafted. Has a very solid skill set and I reckon he could physically kick Daniels further than Daniels can actually kick.

I’m kind of in the opposite camp re media etc. Richmond, for example, do a brilliant job with their media department. Feels like they upload a new video every day, or going by YouTube pop ups I see regularly.
I’ve even watched a couple of the tigers one, feel dirty even saying that, but my son is mates with one of their young blokes who should be playing for North anyway.
Ours is a young and exciting team with plenty of players that other young kids who don’t support North really like.
Players like Harry, George, PC, McKercher, FOS, and hopefully Doveston, are the types that everybody will enjoy watching play.
We need to be pushing this stuff really hard. We are a fair way off other clubs in this area.
The giants media team are brilliant too, but they do it in a different way due to their circumstance.
Hawks are early adopters too.
Up to us/North to find a way to create content that is in line with what we stand for as a club.
I’m really surprised how little content we put out, particularly with the success of the girls team.

i recall when heath and rob were around, every training session at the end they would have a video upload with an interview with a player or staff

those were the days

eventually by the end of pre season you would hear from nearly the whole list

we need more inner sanctum stuff and should bring back the players podcast
or a weekly players hosted video segment

Media isn't under the soft cap, so we're at a financial disadvantage with it across the board - I don't know but it's probably 10% of someone's role or a passion project for someone to make the videos. Unlikely we'll reach Richmond/Blues/Collingwood heights with it but none the less I agree we need to be pushing and differentiating. Would think there's opportunity for a more grass roots influencer type approach to it at low cost - can't be approaching things like big revenue teams when we simply will never be one.

If that’s the case re soft cap then this further proves how corrupt the whole thing is. Smaller clubs should be granted those funds in order to build their supporter base. It’s a joke. I do struggle to see how the smaller clubs can grow without investing in this space.
Hawks have turned themselves into a big club , mainly via success, but they’ve made some ballsy moves and deserve their rewards for it.
If we don’t try these things now the gap only widens.

Hawks were also lucky in a way that their success was timed with the explosion of social media/smartphones/internet. Right place, right time to leverage their premierships and superstar players.

If only they would outsource to giantroo!

More seriously, we have the talent to put together a small team; obviously maddie and giant would be core. Maddie's photos, for example, should be on the club web site. Perhaps one of our attendees at training could have a short chat to the coaches about training strategy? Don't know if these people, who are already doing so much, would be interested. More importantly, does anyone have a feeling for whether the club would be interested?

As people have said, without superb, eye-catching content, it's that little bit harder for us to grow our supporter base.

I don't get the hyperdefensiveness of the media team.

They probably are underresourced but the output is pretty lean, to put it diplomatically.

The draftee highlights were about 40 seconds and left you scratching your head why we drafted them. You had to go to excellent content from channels like noobermensch excellent https://youtube.com/@footystuffyt?si=UVgEHPmuBR1bJg9v to see properly constructed vision of our new players.

Plenty on here really need to check out and take a break.

Stop giving a shit about whats happening week to week in pre season.

It literally counts for nothing.

We play the Pies in Ballarat in 4 months time or so. Judge the muppets then.

Everything else between now and then is bullshit. The video and interviews and quote grabs and all of it.
