Better tell the FBI that - they created the course Van Apren teaches that I did.

They are used to determine physiological responses by the subject to determine if there are ‘abnormal’ responses to particular questions - the subject is asked a series of questions, with only one designed to elicit a reaction of the metabolism.

If the interviewer detects a ‘response’, their skill is to generate further questions along that path which are empathatic, and insert a further question designed to test the subject’s reactions.

Generally they don’t work well on pedos and psychos because their reality manifests in self-belief they what they’ve done is either no big deal or ‘normal’.

The machines simply provide an indicator that the subject MAY be lying, obfuscating or omitting.

None of which gets anywhere near the level of proof required for trial evidence.

I can understand the intention of SOS to make a statement which could’ve been about sending a message to his son of complete unconditional support.
But he has involved himself publicly now implying the victim is a liar and in my view that makes his relationship/position with St Kilda untenable.

Seems the decision is to appeal and they will be looking for anything to tear that woman down.

Completely agree with this and hope/wish more feel the same. If I was a St Kilda member I’d be writing to the club to express my views. And yes, if Bruhn had been found guilty of what he was accused of I’d feel exactly the same way.

A number of outlets are specifically noting that the other case is not at all related to the Silvagni case at all to ensure there’s no defamation risk to them. Going THAT far would seem to indicate it ain’t anyone with the surname Silvagni

According to that article he plead guilty, so he must’ve been charged.

That article is from 9 years ago and said the offender was 17 at the time.

1 - It’s not the CIA (as mentioned in another post) - it’s work conducted by the US Defense Security Service in conjunction with the FBI. DSS process security clearances and conduct administrative investigations on behalf of the US Defence forces. The FBI conduct the poly tests.

2- It’s not quackery as I’ve previously explained - you are just continuing to ignore the facts because someone knows a shiteload more about it than you.

3 - The US use it in Security Clearance processing (Vetting) and when conducting administrative investigations IF there are causes to be concerned about a cleared member’s behaviour or background.

At the highest level, Clearances are revalidated every 12 months.

4- The FBI also use it for criminal and CI investigations.

5- I don’t need podcasts. I worked (now retired) for the Australian Defence equivalent. Australian security agencies do not use the polygraph.

All of this is open source information that is available on the web.
