Brilliant if not fortunate.

It's crazy how often the technology is being misused at the moment.
Technology misuse can't be held responsible for that.

The frame where the noise is located is well before ball passes bat. If we believe the owner of snicko who is saying operator error selecting the non-striker end.

Well, that defies the laws of physics. Using the correct end would see the noise wave travel less distance and therefore the noise would be even further away from bat hitting ball. Not closer.

The misuse of it absolutely can be. Regardless of what it came up at the correct end, it's surely not asking too much that the correct end is selected when using the technology?

An error that's inconsequential and irrelevant as it would have made the discrepancy wider.

Probably a victim of his lofty success but I've found Boland to be largely underwhelming this series.

Had 4/33 in the second innings in Perth but the rest of his innings combined (including today) are 3/226.

Don't think you'd argue he'd keep Hazlewood out once he's fit and firing again.

The Khawaja drop cost England around 70 odd runs, the Carey technology mistake was 30+, and then this morning being whacked around for another 50 odd.

And then 4 quick wickets in return and essentially that’s the Test, and series. The Pope dismissal was very poor, similar to some of yesterday’s dismissals. Just throwing wickets away.

Boland's issue is he's a one trick pony. That one trick is very good, but if it's not working for him then he just becomes a medium pacer who they can get hold of pretty easily.

Harry Brook in particular seems to have few issues advancing down the wicket to disrupt his length and dispatch him.

He was disappointing in England for the same reasons.

Being displaced by Hazlewood is no slight on him, Hazlewood is an elite bowler.

Pope isn't a test quality bat.

You can't be 60 odd tests into your career and still averaging mid 30's while batting at 3.

That's like saying this GF sucks because my team is up by 70 at HT.

5-0 every time thanks.
Grind them into the dirt.
Not really, I'd rather see a contest. The most memorable contests/series are the close ones.

He's clearly a class above Neser/Doggett etc but equally clearly below Starc/Cummins/Hazlewood. Which as you say, is not slight on him but it's become pretty apparent he's limited.

Not for the Ashes. No sympathy for the Poms.
Hulk smash always.

After all, some of the travelling barmy army are probably Chelsea fans.

Hasn’t been a great Test for snicko. Starc calling it the worst technology ever gave me a chuckle haha. Gotta say it didn’t carry anyway, it looked to have bounced in front of Khawaja so I’m not sure why they were so pissed off that decision. The Smith out wasn’t convincing either but supposedly if the spike is one frame after it is still classified as out.

That looked a dirty decision on Smith. Certainly a spike but it looked like clear daylight between bat and ball.
For sure, but I'm not sure where else the spike would've come from.

Occam's Razor suggests that he nicked it despite the gap.

I agree mate, I much prefer seeing a genuine contest. Aside from the India tours here in recent years it largely becomes a precession here, the results are inevitable. This really is paltry from England. A capitulation.
