I cant be ****ed having a look back, but Gibcus despite injuries already showed alot more than Chesser.
Irrelevant.

THE_GASLIGHTER decided it'd be funny to troll Chesser and cried like a bitch when a similar comment was made on Gibcus.

How ****ing embarrassing for him.

If Ginbey is a failed mid based on his first season (the time he actually played mid), why do you not consider Lalor a failed mid?

FWIW I rate Lalor, just interested on your justification for this.
I think this debate is getting de-railed by comparing Ginbey's midfield credentials with 10-gamer Lalor.

I can see why Ginbey has been taken away out of the midfield.

2023 was his debut year so you have to take that into consideration. But for players with 40%+ CBA's that year who played 5+ games - taking out ruckman. There were 71 such players:

Ginbey's ranking:
Centre Clearances: 71st of 71
CC/CBA: 71st
Total Clearances: 71st
1st possessions: 71st
SI's: 71st
SI%: 71st
Disposals: 71st
Metres Gained: 70th
Inside 50's: 70th

So that's harsh because is was his debut year. And very few first year players were attending that level of CBA's, in a very poor team. But there wasn't too much to get excited about given he was last in almost every meaningful category for a mid.

In 2024 his CBA's dropped from 43% to 33.9%. So for players with 30%+ CBA's in 2024 and 5+ games, there were 101 such players.

Centre Clearances: 86th of 101
CC/CBA: 74th
Total Clearances: 94th
1st possessions: 94th
SI's: 95th
SI%: 93rd
Disposals: 83rd
Metres Gained: 77th
Inside 50's: 88th

His CBA's stopped in Round 20, so that must have been when the Eagles coaching staff realised he probably wasn't a mid...and certainly not a centre square one.

Not sure how you'd like to judge it....but I'm not surprised he was re-deployed into defence...and won't be heading back into midfield any time soon.

soooo in short, failed mid :)

Not strictly correct Gun.

Pick 14 + 4 years development + a 10 pick downgrade for Tylar Young. These twits didn't get glued to 18th on the ladder for no reason....

You guys couldn't lie straight in bed.😂

Pick 38 for Young was the ex Hawks F2nd from the Barrass trade in 2024.

Nothing to do with Chesser.

At all.

The Chesser pick 41 trade ended up landing Sam Allen, pick 29, a highly credentialled wing / Half back. Not a bad outcome from a player with injury history holding him back.

Its hilarious how desperate you are to have a win somewhere. Now you just make up things to sound clever.......and it backfires.

Please keep posting. We all need a good laugh.

Every meaningful category for a mid?

He was 16th from that list for tackles.

This is what he produced when he had continuity in the midfield.

Ginbey in games with 40% CBA’s where he wasn’t subbed (7 game sample) his rookie
season averaged:
15D
7.9T
8CP
3.2CL
From an average of 56% CBA’s

Atkins (an A grade defensive mid) this year averaged:
19.6D
8.9T
11.5CP
5.7CL
From an average of 71%CBA’s

Tell your deficient running mate bzpukes that....you guys are a dead set mess.

The trade was pick 38 anyway.

Hilarious they're desperately claiming it wasn't.

Basically flicked Chesser for Young.

Catkins got 5.7 score involvements per game in 2025.

Professional sherrin wrecker Ginbey was getting 2 per game as a mid.

For the 2023-24 seasons, for players with 30%+ CBA's and 10+ games he was literally the worst performed midfielder in the entire competition - by a long way.

I guess someone has to be the worst.

But nobody is going to be the worst for long......that's when they'll be delisted (Thomson Dow), playing reserves (Tim Kelly) or re-deployed (Ginbey).

How many rookies in 2023 had 40%+ CBA’s?

His CC/CBA far exceeded Lalors this year, is he a failed mid currently?

Sounds like you are saying Lalor is largely an untried mid.

Couldn't say that about failed mid Ginbey. If he keeps turning it over for fun in defence next step scrapheap.

Funny how you guys describe a player who is one step off the scrapheap as elite. Quite laughable really.
