Matthew Elliott's would've played more tests but for (and the knee injury of course) getting caught in a lie post a Caribbean tour and saying to his partner "everyone else was doing it too!". Cue his partner contacting all the other players' partners...
 
Anyone want to argue against 80-85% of either partner cheating during marriage given 50% end in divorce, blokes the overwhelming majority those who "stray". There's tougher times in life than infidelity though.

Yup.

If you look at the culture of any successful top level sporting team it's all about trust and bonding so it's a green light to do whatever you want knowing 'what happens on the ground stays on the ground'. It's not as punishing for the children these days as it's more common and there's more support for them so for mine it's just fodder for the miserable meedja

FIrst would be a hot take for most I think, but looks is all a bit subjective.

No one knows what Jules is like as a person though. Maybe the reason she was attracted to the Big Cheating Piece Of Shit Lauchie Neale is because she's also a flog.

Late 90s I went to an event, chatted with a former Aus cricketer. He knew my date from work, years earlier. Gave her his card. After he left she curled her lip and showed me - he had written his hotel room number on the back.
 
Someone posted earlier about her taking up with Neale in the first place.

If Neale was just some battler in the WAFL I doubt Jules would have given him a second look. Reality is many women will look beyond a lot of faults (looks, behaviour, brains) to get with high profile and high earning men. It would not surprise me if she had looked past his extra curricular activities going back quite a while. Look at some of the threads on the Scandals forum and you will read stories of so-called good guys rooting around while attached.

And here is a generalisation about beauticians (and please, let me know if you have had a different experience), I have never met one who was particularly bright. Certainly met a few nutcases though.

It is pretty common when a man cheats on the wife for him to be called a scumbag, selfish and all the rest. A woman does it and the reaction is "Well she just wasn't having her needs met. The husband should have done better."

On that note, it could be that Neale is a scumbag. It could also be that he dug himself into a whole with a crazy wife who was driving him up a wall.

I don't have that much sympathy for her having moved interstate. Doesn't deserve to be cheated on, but I will take some convincing she saw anything in him other than money and profile in the first place.

Very unfortunate for the kids. I really hate it when homes break down like this.

There’s a hell of a lot more to sexual attraction than looks. Particularly with couples who’ve been together for a very long time.

I’m sure Mr and Mrs Neale aren’t attracted to each other and haven’t been for a very long time. It’s very common, particularly after children. Looks aren’t going to change that. It’s often when cheating happens - one side (almost always the bloke) has his desires and the partner doesn’t meet them.

Of course, the commitment of marriage is meant to mean that you work these things out, not just go get your rocks off elsewhere. The idea is you’re standing there, in front of others (and your god if you have one) and making that lifetime commitment.

But many people don’t actually take marriage seriously, at least not in the long term, which is why the separation and divorce rate is so high. They move into it as a social ritual, or for security, and they plan a wedding event, not a marriage.

Saddest part about these situations is the innocent party - the kids.

These things can go in waves, of course. Many more children of divorce now than in previous generations, which may lead to them taking marriage more seriously and thinking a little more deeply about it before taking the plunge.

Not sure if this has been mentioned yet but this bizarre story is quite similar to the Jimmy-Nadia Bartel saga.

He was a great player, she smoking, kids, seemed to have it all.

She was an obvious nutcase. He couldn't keep it in his pants. The whole thing spilled into he socials.
 
Trying to figure out if Tess and Jules knew each other before Lachie moved to Brisbane.

Were they high school buddies? Were they both originally from WA?
