Lalor has failed as a clearance midfielder thus far. Fortunately he had 20 goals and goal assists in his 10 x games.

In his last 10 games playing mid (games 26-35) Ginbey kicked 1 x goal and had 1 x goal assist - he only had 11 goals and goal assists in his 35 x games playing midfield. His SI's and SI% were very low.

That's why Ginbey was re-deployed - he had very minimal damage with anything he was doing in the midfield...he's just not creative by hand or foot, doesn't kick goals and wasn't getting involved in scores.

He wasn't re-deployed out of the midfield from a team that desperately needs young midfielders for sh*ts and giggles.

If Lalor is producing the same statlines in midfield as Ginbey was 35-games into his career he won't be playing midfield either.

How many of those interstate premierships have been won without concessions from the AFL? I can only think of West Coast in 2006 but they were on drugs and West Coast in 2018 but Maynard was blocked. At least Fremantle have never won any tainted premierships.

Bloody hell mate now you are changing the narrative of the topic
fact remains the interstate teams have won their fair share of premierships on a constant basis for the amount of teams that are in the league the last 25 years 10 in the last 25 years and 14 in the last 35 years and when you factor in how many interstate teams there were back then its about right and travel has not seem to be a factor in the last 35 years.

Ginbey was basically the worst performed midfielder in the entire competition for the seasons he played there. No shame in being re-deployed to the backline, as he has acquitted himself well there thus far. He won’t return to the Eagles midfield …. ever. It’s not his go.
