Inglis needs to be dropped, team for Boxing Day should be:

Weathers
Head
Marnus
Smith
Uz
Carey
Green
Starc
Neser
Boland
Murphy

I'd go

Weatherald
Head
Marnus
Smith
Khawaja
Carey
Green
Starc
Murphy
Richardson
Boland

I like Neser but I was mostly interested in him as a Gabba pink ball bowler. Richardson is just a LOT more dangerous.

Green is the cricket equivalent of Murphy.
Green is one of the most talented cricketers to come through the Australian system is a decade.

He averages 52+ in Sheffield Shield across his career - the highest of ANY active player - and is back to pushing 140k as a bowler. All while being one of the best gully fieldsmen to have played.

Murphy was a trier who did team things.

Green is literally the opposite of Murphy. He is champagne talent who needs to get it together.

... and yet, Murphy's on-field achievements for the Crows comfortably exceed Green's on-field achievements for Australia.

What this tells us is that Green is wasting his talent & potential. Murphy was arguably one of the least talented players to ever represent the AFC, yet he made the most of his limited abilities. Green would do well to emulate him in this regard.

You are absolutely correct that Green is the opposite of Murphy. Right now, he's more like Troy Menzel or Curtly Hampton - players blessed with ridiculous talents, but who never came close to fulfilling their potential.

Lol they really dont, another one of your fanciful posts.

Greens made Test match 100s, Murphy really hasnt done anything of note in any of his AFL games.

This tour is turning into an on-field and off-field disaster for England

And it's glorious

They would have been absolutely insufferable if they'd been successful here

Didn't some Australian media guy say he was at Noosa and it wasn't a stag-do pissup, and now there have been multiple videos showing guys heavily drinking and attending clubs?

Inglis has been around the squad because they like the idea of having another destructive player in the top 7 apart from Head.

Someone aggressive to complement the more orthodox players - Khawaja, Marnus, Smith, Green. Since Warner retired we've lost some explosiveness about our batting. That's why Inglis leapt the batting queue ahead of some other state batters.

Maybe they'll rethink that given that Inglis looks limited technically, plus batters like Carey and even Weatherald (hopefully) seem to be scoring at a decent clip. Would be better to just have another good batter around the squad, regardless of style
