Probably pretty early into the year

But people will whinge regardless of what the threshold is.

I like the rule. Eliminates the week (or season) killing scores when a players injured on 0 or not much. Way i see it if my player plays half a game and cant score semi decently hes just a bad pick, not bad luck
Agree, it will be way better more often than it might catch someone out

Do you think it will disincentivise emergency looping ?
Surely has to, before the change the only downside to looping was someone being a late out, cover did nothing if they were injured during game.

Wouldn't be doing it in a line with injury prone players that's for sure.

You would think so, at this early stage of thinking. Looping, however, can offer a degree of certainty very early in the round, when it works. Surely we'll all utilise both in time.

I'll keep track of the TOG and watch it diminish as the game goes on.
Player X plays entire first half = 100% TOG.
Injured at half time.

I'll then streak onto the ground, thus ensuring the second half goes longer than the first half and knocks player below the 50% threshold.

We will have a team of dedicated streakers at each game ready to pounce.
Text requests by 3/4 time to 0405 FANTASY.

Small fee of $10,000
The money will need to be in my account before the streaker is activated.

This small sum covers our fine, plus a little extra to help with the hiring of a new streaker after the AFL ground ban.

Positions currently open for the following grounds.
SCG
GMHBA
UTAS
TIO

(Clothing optional but we do request a reasonable level of fitness to ensure sufficient time wasting)
Obviously the post is in jest but made me think, is TOG % based on game time or real time?

Really should be based on game time (ie there are 80 available mins of play) so being on/off at a time such as a streaker, stretcher etc doesn’t inaccurately dilute the actual purpose of the stat

Just in advance of tomorrow, Merry Christmas all !! Hope you have a great day with your families and friends, or - if you can't stand your family - a tolerable and peaceful day !!
To you and all who purvey their best ideas on this site, may you have a great day today, and wonderful time through to Xmas and beyond, at least until my team whips your arse and I finally go No 1, in what we dutifully call a Fantasy Footy site, but, is often an outlet of great lament instead!

Be kind to everyone today, even TedDougChris

Well darn, that counts me out… I only share my worst ideas on here. Maybe that’s why my teams always suck.

Merry Christmas to all… even you PA 🎄

Streaker is an unlikely event but if someone needs to be taken off on a stretcher, this would add 10 minutes to a quarter hence the argument is a fair one. Even to a lesser extent, the amount of time wasted on score reviews could have an impact on a player's ToG.
The 80 minutes of actual play time is not going to be used for this. Most quarters go around 30 minutes so this is what I'd be basing it on.
When you take into account the amount of time likely spent on the bench most players will need to go beyond half way through the third quarter before they reach 50% of game time.

Coaches Panel content is starting to drop so time for my first attempt for the offseason. I put this side together a few days ago but some of these names came up in the video that dropped tonight where I haven't seen these names discussed yet.

This side has been built from the bottom up, chasing value at every position (where possible) but not taking byes into account. The forward line is a shambles (hello Sheezel) and will make or break teams. Defense is another line that will make or break teams but more because there are several ways you can take this line.

Backs: Rozee, Banks, McKercher, Newman, Coleman, Grlj, Carmichael, Gibcus
Midfield: Butters, Steele, H.Young, H.Reid, D.Curtin, Yeo, W.Duursma, S.Cumming, J.Smith, D.Sharp
Ruck: Xerri, Bryan, Duff-Tytler
Forwards: Sheezel, Moore, Flanders, Lohmann, T.Marshall, Robey, Dovaston, Robertson
Utility: Smilie

Todd Marshall is an interesting one. Priced at under $400k and allegedly playing in the back lines this year. I live around the corner from Alberton Ovam so might drop in on training.
Yeah, an unconventional choice but the forward line is lacking options and Marshall is definitely underpriced for what he can do.

way too many mid-pricers for me. only 4 premo's. I'll have 10 premos. but I do guns n rooks.

I hate the Yeo pick. that's just forced trades. Same with Coleman. Reid I don't really see it and Curtin is a no for me despite surprising me last season.

2nd ruck in Bryan. Hmmm

You must have a heap of opening round players as most of the premiums are playing opening round.
Due to their early byes, I'm trying to minimise the number of said players. The only premium I have who will have an early bye is Gulden.

Butters, Rozee, Caldwell, Sheezel, Xerri, Gawn, Brayshaw, Pickett with NWM and Gulden as the only 2 premium with early bye round.

For the sake of the argument, I'm treating anyone with a value of $500K or more as a premium.
I therefore have 8 myself. Rozee, Clark, Butters, Gulden, Caldwell, Steele, Xerri and Sheezel. Gulden's the only round 0 player however I may have an issue in round 4 with Flanders, Daniels and Phillipou all missing from my forward line.
As the year goes on, the new premiums brought into the squad will most likely be those who played in round 0.

Good planning. Unsure as to how long Phillipou will last and he’s not that cheap.

Silly me. I've been looking at my SuperCoach squad, not Fantasy. Your comment about Phillipou not being cheap made me realise. Yeah, he is too expensive in Fantasy. So is Daniels who is a great selection in SC.
I suppose anyone over $900K could be classed as a premium in AF. That being the case, I still have 8.
Rozee, Clark, Caldwell, Butters, Steele, Young, Xerri and Sheezel.
Gulden, Flanders and Draper are my only onfield players who will be having an early bye and each of their byes are in separate weeks.

Yeah, shook my head a bit on that $500k comment 🤣 . Premium may even have risen to $950ish with so many now in the $1M category

I was originally thinking $1M as the starting price for a premium but I noticed that you had Pickett in your list hence I made $900K the mark. The fact that there's only one forward above $1M means that $1M is too high a starting point for a premium selection.
