Straight, to the point.

This is an Australian issue, nothing to do with Israel. This happened on our soil, our residents.

This was a radical ISIS killing.

Asio and Afp need investigating, they stuffed up. When these 2 extremists came back from Phillipines, which was known by government agencies, they should have been detained.

This is not political, it has been made political.
We need to unite as a country.

Enough already.
if there was ever a need for a public inquiry this is it ..... if only to dispel some of the RWNJ Qooker rubbish being thrown about [be it from the usual suspects in Qookerville, a dishonourable media who are well past contempt ..... through to past/present politicians looking to disgracefully cash in whilst the tragedy is fresh in peoples minds]

unfortunately, both the intelligence community and govt will ensure any inquiry will be done behind closed doors .... not a good outcome

I’d also say that in the case of the ABC, they’ve been so traumatised by relentless News Corpse campaigns of supposed bias in the past that they pre-emptively give ground to the RWNJ viewpoint so as to appear “balanced”. It never works because the hard right will never be satisfied till the corpse of the ABC hangs rotting in the village square, but I can’t say I blame them for not having the stomach for starting yet another shitfight simply for reporting the truth.
they should embrace that the shitfight is inevitable.

Worth having a look who is on the ABC board too. Most of the time these days its people associated with Murdoch or the Liberal party.

I used to refer to the ABC for a variety of views, but I havent done it in a while. I used to trust BBC to some degree, but zionists took that over. I used to look at aljazeera for a non-west view but "his hairpiece" got a moderate sheikh in charge of it, in return for promises that Israel wouldnt bomb Qatar again....

so i'm left with tucker carlson...and candace owens for a catholic perspective

Zionists can juggle. They can attack "blood on hands" albo, while seeking to undermine SuSSSan in order to prepare thee the way of the Lord - Josh Frydenburger.

Yeah the abc and bbc are pretty shithouse. AlJaz is still okay.

This is good:

The trouble with the ABC is that it is a not for profit public broadcaster that is also required to meet a plethora of performance measures that are, imho, contradictory in this click bait world.

These include the usual objective audience and reach measures that every media outlet has - audience share ffor its TV and radio broadcasts for example and clicks to its digital platforms. And then a wide range of subjective measures that only it hand the SBS has to reach because it is a publicly funded network - these include things like 'public value and trust', 'diversity and inclusion' and 'quality and accuracy' of its editorial content.

Trying to match commercial media networks for audience share and 'clicks' while at the same time trying to meet onerous social and community standards than no commercial network is required to meet is setting it up for failure.

And no surprises it misses both.

The ABC 2025 Annual Report shows the national public broadcaster has gone backwards on nearly all of its annual performance metrics, including in terms of public perception of whether the broadcaster is accurate and impartial, is valued for services to the community, and if it is meeting diversity quotas.

The percentage of people who believe the ABC is the best or a good source for high-quality programming compared to competitors has dropped 1% for both video and audio, to 84% and 79% respectively, while those who believe the ABC is the best or as good as other outlets in covering regional Australia has dropped to 67%, down 3% on last year. Still a lot higher than any of its commercial competitors but a strong sign of growing discontent.

It's a no win for the ABC but in my view putting out dumbed down breakfast and drive-time radio programs that are poor copies of what the commercial radio stations are doing on mega budgets and an unhealthy focus on reality and game show content for its prime-time TV products is not what the ABC should be focussed on. And nor should employing the likes of Jane Norman as its national affairs editor who often gets her facts wrong and is better suited to a commercial breakfast program (yes, I'm being harsh here).

Alj has pulled existing documentaries off its site about gaza. The hosing down looks noticeable, although I must add that i've given the channel a break after two years of israelis murdering palestinians every day which was starting to make me question whether the channel qualified as "news" anymore....because it was the same story day after day.

I think they've got australia pretty much under control, although the right podcasters in the US are causing a bit of trouble. There's momentum from underneath, but they're throwing everything at the hasbara.....next year will tell a story.

judging quality on customer opinions is always a problem. Most aussies want their radio people to laugh a lot....a lot...and tell dirty stories about celebrities. i dont know if a charter can put metrics on that

This is probably why they are cooked.

It worked from 2010-2013 cos "axe the tax" and "stop the boats" were simple, catchy and had saturation coverage in the media at the time. They effectively brainwashed people.

This won't work. Maybe something will happen that will give them the same simple catchphrase but even then the media landscape has changed so much that they will never get that sort of saturation coverage again.
Gun Law Reform?

Important to recognise that the legislation that passed NSW Parliament today introducing tougher legislative restrictions in NSW as a result of the Bondi massacre was passed with 18 votes in favour and eight against.

The Liberals joined the Labor government members in voting for the bill, while the Nationals and Shooters voted against.

The Greens members abstained.

Minns and his government will get the flack for any successful High Court challenge to the legislation (Minns openly admitted his government is not 100% certain that the legislation will survive such a challenge but that's often the case with major legislative change) but this is probably as bi-partisan as any legislation was going to get.

Politically smart of the Greens to abstain from the vote but also a bit gutless imho especially as the amended bill included a key amendment from them on tightening firearms laws for people with suspected terrorist links. As we saw in SA in 2024, the Greens are never going to support a Bill that imposes restrictions on protest rights - regardless of the circumstances.

It just occurred to me....is there anyway that SuSSan can be acceptable with those two middle letters?
Yes as a retail chain (womenswear)

Slogan was “when you shop at sussan the smiles in the bag”
