One of the best innings I've seen from an English batsman here was Michael Vaughan back in the 2002/03 series.

His captaincy against us in 05 was brilliant. Exploited all of our batsmen's weaknesses and had the cattle to execute to perfection. Still regard that series as the greatest cricket ever played

I find it bemusing that supposed test class players would have such a technical flaw. I was coached as a young player (and by that I mean under 10) to have bat and pad together in a forward defence. Could drive a truck through the gap between bat and pad with Smith. Very good ball but played it so badly.

The whole marketing/business side of bazball and the barmy army are not mutually exclusive I feel. I read somewhere that they think they are the protagonist, and that's the big problem.

If brilliant fielding led to the runout, in test match cricket, there was no run.

Having said that, there may well have been a run if green had actually run instead of hesitating his way down the pitch.
