Jim, you could make the case Green deserved to be dropped certainly.

I would have not let Ussie in to the team for Adl and brought webster in then.

I dont like testimonial test matches as a general rule.

With Ussie though, form was ok. 82, 40, and 29, which was a good score last Test. Didn't help making a duck out hooking but his form at no.5 has been reasonable enough. Much better than that of Marnus.

Absolutely ludicrous selections.
Not only is Cameron Green a walk up start but the whole side is restructured and compromised in order to fit him in.
If he can get his back right maybe give up the batting and come back as a bowler and no 8 when the big 3 retire in a couple of years.
At least Webster gets a chance but coming it at 8 is on a hiding to nothing and has severely limited opportunity.
Also why not give Murphy a go.and see if he's up to Australian conditions? If there is ever a time to do it its now

No, it's because picking 2 batting all-rounders who both average 34 with the ball in FC in a 5-man pace attack that already has a bowling all-rounder is f*cking stupid no matter what year it is.

Particularly if you find yourself batting second, like we are, it's much better to have that genuine spin option available than pulling nonsense like this.
