Looks a pretty good first day pitch to me, something in it for the bowlers in the first session that gets easier to bat on after lunch.

I don't think anyone here would be complaining if Australia had won the toss and got to bat first on this pitch and be at 3 for 200.

Yep. Deck had spice early now its flattened. Just a normal Test match deck for day 1 and it will probably deteriorate (as normal) on day 4 and day 5.
