Can't wait for both sides to play some proper batting this match except this time are penalised for not going fast enough to get ahead of shit weather

seems a strange decision to bring in Webster instead of having a fourth frontline bowler in the team, whether it be pace or spin, especially as Starc looks a bit tired now after a big series leading the attack. if they didn't want to play a spinner they should have just left Richardson in, or if they really wanted Webster in then they should have dropped Green instead.

Yep, bizarre selection by Aus.

I know we're winning because England are mental short people but really concerned about the future - it is hard to see us staying anywhere near this level (Which isn't even that high, our bowling just carries us) in 2-3 years when we have more retirements. Insane we don't at least give Murphy a game.

This country has had an obsession with fast bowlers and rating fielding for a long time now and the last decade has had a big shift in that mindset. The selection of a spinner that isn't Lyon doesn't surprise me. There's a reason we have back up fast bowlers to pick from but can't find any batters to open for us

Also yes as i said, the one time you could allow them to play a bit faster with potential rain coming, England roll out calm, good, composed, slower batting

I don't get the schedule of cricket. There was a point yes where there was to much cricket yes, but after this the aussie team is done in Australia in all formats, in the second week of the second month of the aussie summer

BBL is somewhat entertaining and i guess you need to release some players to that before a t20 world cup in feb... but ehhhh. BBL isn't going to carry me through January (I suppose at least the Australian Open and NFL are on)

The old tri series used to be peak cricket. At the end of the test series you'd still have a bunch of one day games that run out January. The international cricket summer now goes from mid November to early Jan. It's barely 7 weeks long. BBL is background noise really. Rarely sit down to watch it.

Hoges in the lunch-time interview with his hand in the pocket, I presume to ensure it doesn't start flying around on it's own.
