You must be joking. Just because they played the most tests don't make them the best bowlers. Anderson's bowling average against Australia is 36.

That said this shouldn't detract from Smith's rightful place as an all time great. You can only beat the players who you play against.
Talk to the ICC, not me.

I still don't see the fascination with Green. The guy has talent, but you can't continually have frequent brain fades, and keep getting picked. Webster is a more than handy replacement.

It’s the no consequences approach that England is struggling with at the moment. Of course they are going to keep doing dumb shit if there is no repercussions. I’m not saying banish them for years like Martyn was but surely there is an inbetween

I could be wrong but I think there’s a massive discrepancy between the sort of people who are football hooligans and the type that are dedicated English cricket fans even if they do like a beer and singing songs like their lower-class 11-man-game brethren
Had a drink with a few of the Barmy Army in Richmond after they won the last test. Absolutely ripper blokes and all class. It surprised me to hear that a lot of the English fan base are dedicated cricket fans in the sense that all other sports come second. In Australia the average punter watches a few tests per year in the summer holidays, but over there it seems to be a smaller but more dedicated fanbase that will follow England and their county side all year round.

Looking forward to a lead of 600, then a couple of Poms out playing stupid shot before Lunch.

Would be quite an effort to score close to quadruple figures for an innings, Smudge would probably need to score a quintuple century too to get us to 980 odd.

250 would be a good target.will be interesting to see how they go about playing their second innings of that happens to be the case .
