A PM would be a courtesy reserved for someone I have some affection for, or someone who is at least pleasant.

This is a thread about Bondi, and we've digressed to the point where it's disrespectful.

Lastly, my chatbot recommended that I refrain from further engagement with you.

I don't really care if your TEMU chatbot has "suggested" it's best to refrain, if you keep posting here, I'll pull you up on anything you conflate or miscategorise.

I don't care if you read my posts either, but I'll continue making the argument, but too further extrapolate my point regarding the "source", I did forget too mention some important stuff like longitudinal studies by Kantor Centre in Tel Aviv to track anti-semitism every year..

Here's rabbi Yaakov Shapiro (who wrote a book on this very conflation on how Israel adopted this to cause their own self harm) articulating this point very well in the video below

The three salient points are:

There is no statistical correlation between criticism of Israel and antisemitic violence

There is strong correlation between Israeli military actions and increase in attacks on Jews globally

Videos of dead children is a stronger "engine" in radicalisation that protests or rhetoric

Your claim was:

Changing Israel’s political course would not meaningfully reduce radicalisation here. The engine doesn’t change

The data doesn't back it up, in fact it's highly disproportionate to your claim.

The very simple but honest claim from Shapiro is:

“Whenever Israel does something controversial, attacks on Jews rise. Whenever Israel doesn’t, attacks go down.

This is not about Jews, it's about state violence (similarly to how the USA is heading, two-tier system and all that, violence, radicalisation increases).

My position hasn't changed and it's exactly what sherb was saying before too.

I've seen several posts of right wing say this same thing..." he will now be cancelled "? I honestly don't think many ppl on the left care tbh.
everyone is allowed their beliefs, and I don't think the Bondi hero with the media mics shoved in his face he is going to say "I hate Trump"

Can someone please enlighten me as to what ancient AS trope this cartoon supposedly revives? I keep hearing this phrase, and I reckon I know at least a bit of history but I can’t see any “ancient antisemitic trope” in there.

(Is it REALLY just the depiction of Netanyahu beating the drum? THAT’S antisemitic? World’s gone quite barmy if so.)

BTW have just noticed how she depicted Little Johnny as too short for his hands to reach the float. LOL.

You know how right wingers are these days. They have to make s**t up along the way, they'd have nothing if they didn't manufacture outrage. Which is why many have jumped off and sent the Liberals into irrelevance.

The whole post Bondi thing has been controlled, from the political point scoring, to setting up Sky News and hard-line Zionists next to where Albo was appearing so they could film the booing, to Ley avoiding any questions that could challenge her and sitting into press conferences with only a couple of Murdoch press people with pre written questions. And lastly having to beg sports people, many with connections to Markson, Reinhart, or are already known conservatives, to put their name down to pressure Albo for a RC. And all the media headlines seem to be reading from the same script. They are in full overdrive right now.

It's funny because all it's done is send them into further irrelevance. Aussies ain't stupid like Yanks are.

I’m glad you asked. It’s a shame, but revealing, that you have to have it explained. The trope is that boogeymen Jews control everything covertly behind the scenes. This “cartoon” is living proof that the trope is still believed.

Beginning in the 1920s, Nazi propagandists promoted the antisemitic myth that Jews were engaged in a massive conspiracy to take over the world. This false notion alleged that “international Jewry” used various people and groups as part of a plan for global conquest. At the time, an octopus extending its tentacles over the globe was a common visual metaphor for this myth.

Sound familiar?

The myth persists in modern times with “the Jewish lobby” supposedly influencing everything and getting unfair preferential advantage in all spheres.

So yes, the world is mad if it still believes this, and plenty do! Including Greens senator, Jenny Leong, who not long ago referred to “Jewish tentacles everywhere” - which she had to withdraw.

Absurd nonsense.

If depicting a simple proven fact - such as that Netanyahu tries to influence matters beyond his borders - is automatically antisemitic, then what pray tell me isn’t antisemitic?

FMD this is the same as outlawing criticism of Netanyahu and his cronies.

Can you not see the insanity of that?

As to Jenny Leong and her tentacles comment, very interesting that you raised that matter. I posted some things I’d turned up a few months back. Have to go out now but will do a search for it when I get back and re-post it for your thoughts.

I think critics of the cartoon are mostly upset by how quickly and easily people have seen through their blatant politicisation of a massacre. They were looking for their no carbon tax under a government I lead moment.

While your comments are fair, with respect to Dogs post, that is what the cartoon dragged up about perceived Jewish influence. This is what it was likened to from Europe 1930s by some.

Yes that was the key to the cartoon - it was pointing out it was an orchestrated campaign for a RC rather than a spontaneous public grass roots reaction.
The indignant response was quite telling

This post makes me laugh. Your first paragraph complains about right wingers making s**t up yet your second paragraph is just pure fantasy and exists only in yours and sadly others fevered imaginations.

I totally get that is what it is claimed it is referencing.

I am just remotely not convinced it
is referencing it.

And if people say “even so, we have to take great care not to inadvertently reference it” then we’re saying Netanyahu can do and say what he likes.

Which world leaders don’t try to influence matters beyond their borders! Especially if their people’s safety or existence is threatened.

Nobody is outlawing criticism, but stick to facts, proven facts, not weird analogies that don’t stand up to reality and are simply the continuation of a cruel vilification of an entire people.

Which neatly summarises the highly charged emotion that is limiting genuine debate on the issue.

Royal commission is going to be pretty interesting, especially with ASIO and how it views/monitors/acts these extremist Islamic preachers. Hope we dont get the "classified" treatment.

We all know what goes on at these lunatic asylums in western sydney where extremist clerics preach hate and than put it on Instagram. How in the **** these places have allowed to remain open for as long as they have is utterly baffling.
